Yes i work with the federal government daily actually and am a Vet. I disagree on the White House accelerating decisions that just so happen to be right (this time) when it’s very clearly for political gain and not purely for public health, which is the job of healthcare agencies and leaders and not politicians. Pushing the booster is exactly the same scenario as Trump trying to force the first vaccine approvals pre election to try and get political wins, and while he was unsuccessful, everyone screamed bloody murder under the exact same logic, so i find it astounding for you to not hold this administration to the exact same standard. I’m pretty certain you would not be defending the last administration doe the same a year ago.
You know what, I want to be pandered to like this. Not everything has to be about persuasion. Also, if liberals are going to be more on board with keeping stuff open if it's framed in this rather morbid way, I also support that.

Yeah, it's wild that a vaccine against a major disease that has killed hundreds of thousands of people has become so politicized. Especially when we've all had to get vaccines before this and it was never an issue

My issue here is that the vaccines from the get-go were intended to keep you from being hospitalized or die, and that’s exactly what the vaccines are doing as the case rates increase or stay the same and the death rates are extremely low. However now everyone has shifted the goal post toward case counts without any consideration towards the original goal of limiting severe cases and even worse death and now case counts alone are driving decisions around restrictions in lockdowns and masks and I’ll kinds of other things

It sounds morbid but is also…accurate? Omicron is highly contagious and if you’re unvaccinated, at this point, you’re putting yourself at serious risk
Why is this still a debate? A pandemic is a *public* health crisis so of course governments, corporations, and individuals are going to worry about the health of others. Why? Because if a high % of the population remains unvaccinated, they have a high chance of straining the healthcare system and causing more shutdowns (obviously hurting the economy). Plus, you staying unvaccinated and getting sick can take away hospital beds from people who really need them (people who will always be high risk, regardless of vaccination status)
I am vaccinated and think everyone should be vaccinated. However, does the WH even look at the data for unvaccinated people? The chance of hospitalization is between 1-5% if an unvaccinated individual contracts covid, and the morbidity rate is under 1%. This press statement is unwarranted and fear mongering.
We don't believe in any alternative science around here. Only what Fauci says is the science.
