Under normal progression after my 5th year is when I make manager. However my law firm is telling me that to file eb-2 gc, I cannot accept the manager promotion right after my 5th year is done, and based on the timeline I have to stay at the senior rank for another whole year? Just found out that end of the year I will be promoted from analyst directly to VP and since it’s such a large jump I’ll be the lowest paid VP in asset management at only $135k TC. Fellow introverts...can I only advance in my career if I take on a leadership role? The thought of this terrifies me. Why if you are on H1B is so much problematic for vendors looking for contractors ? Vendors keep on asking to join on W2 rather that Corp to Corp although for employees on H1B we cannot join on W2 due to immigration issues. Point being does it matter for end client , if the contractor is coming as W2 or not ?
