Second year B4s are now making more than entry-level MBB? Damn.

He said he he is a second year consultant. If he is at Deloitte, he is probably 3-4 years out of undergrad.

I did the same thing. I was prepared to take a pay cut because I thought they would give me campus pay. I was pleasantly surprised by McKinsey giving me much more than that which amounted to a substantial raise. I would do it if I were you. For perspective, in my time at B4, not a single recruiter from a reputable firm reached out to me. In my first month at McK, I had multiple FAANG and PE recruiters reaching out to me. The opportunity gap is substantial and is worth a short-term hit to comp (though you almost certainly will have a comp increase anyways).

Yes

How much are you talking about? Do you plan to do this for a long time? What do you hope to gain in exchange?

Analyst? Or Associate?

Associate, yes. Analyst... probably not.

Associate base is ~165k and analyst is ~85k so there's a big difference between the two. Although their roles are essentially the same.

Lol yes. I would go down from M to associate at MBB.

Analyst external hire (EP) base is 115k

So I recently left a really fun job where I was ridiculously underpaid for a very very boring job that gave me a pretty big pay rise. I thought I could push through how boring it is but nah, not really. Happy I made this choice because it’s a big client but not sure I can do it for long. How long would you give it before quitting? I’m really trying to make the switch to experiential/PR so any help/lead on agencies is appreciated 😶

Any Financial Solutions Advisors out there? What is the pay like and how do you like your job?
I currently work as an Investment Solutions Rep at Fidelity making $55k plus about $12-15k in bonuses. A recruiter reached out about the FSA position and it sounds like a sizeable raise, but is it an enjoyable position? What exactly do you do? How difficult are the metrics?

Hi! I have a quick question and could use some advice:

I have 1 job offer that is an hour away and pays 45k, after negotiations (Research Associate Position at a University) .

I have just interviewed for a position closer to home and a base salary of 65k, but haven’t heard back from them in about 2 days (He said he would make a decision by yesterday and I’ve reached out).
I have to decide on the first offer by Thursday but I haven’t heard back from the second yet. Thoughts on next move?

Looking for insight on business immigration firms in LA. I worked as a judicial clerk/staff attorney at the immigration court and occasionally handles decisions involving employment-based immigration, non immigrant visas, and waivers. I’d like to get into business immigration and eventually advice and counsel for employers, so I’m wondering whether I should be looking into full service firms with L&E and immigration. Thanks!

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
