Hi Fellow fishes, I had an hr discussion with amdocs and during salary negotiation they told we can't give more than 11 lpa, they told it's the last offer and didn't negotiate at all. My current CTC is 7 lpa and YOE: 3 years. How can I renegotiate with them. Will they not process my offer letter if I ask them to reconsider? P.S. : I really want to join amdocs. Amdocs
Hello Guys,
I Got one Offer from Fynd but that is too low for me and as per my expereince
They are giving me 9 LPA bcz I quoted that amount when I applied for it long back. at that time I didnt know more about how salary and all calculated and whats the market research
Now after clearing all the rounds when we meet for salary discussion i told him my real desired salary as per experience and market reseach
He told me that I quoted 9 LPA so we can not do more "unless you have any counter offer"

C1, you clearly have no idea what your project manager does. Not that it's a bad thing, but it's like everyone was talking about biology and you suddenly blurt out, "so you have a degree to know how how to add numbers together!"
PMP is actually way more than just that, C1. Google the syllabus. It’s a pretty comprehensive cert
Whenever I see a PMP certified person... I run...
Some people get a little overzealous about trackers, documentation, meetings, agendas, sharepoint usage, etc.
Those people are likely to take PMP seriously lol
Why do you run M2?
I got mine from Apple...the PiMP
@KPMG1 Because most of the times I meet and work with a PMP certified person.. they are pretty useless
No
What company? What practice?
Deloitte won’t pay you more because you have one, mostly useful for federal work
Yeah, PMP is good for public sector. IBM won’t pay you anything extra. Certifications are good for your professional growth and knowledge but won’t have a considerable impact on your salary.
Zippo more in comp. some fed clients ask for it but I have not come across it much as a req tbh
I’m taking the test on Friday. Have heard in project management fields it adds $5-10k to base salary.
SC1 is right, unless you go specifically into a PMO role, no one will care.
It just gives me a certification to say I can manage projects at a basic level (potential future flexibility) and is refundable if I pass (free and easy certification)
Why? So you are certified to know Revenue - Cost = Profit? Dumb
You won’t get a pay bump at your current firm if that’s what you’re asking, but it should fetch you $5-10k more when negotiating for a new offer elsewhere. Think of it similar to how having a MS will put you at a SLIGHT advantage over those with only a bachelors degree in terms of bargaining power and credentials.
However if you’re asking if it carries significant weight (like a CFA or MBA) you will be disappointed.
Is it useful for pivoting into a project/product management role?
@associate1 nope

Worthwhile if you want to lead projects. At IBM, it is required for the PM career track, and is a prerequisite to becoming a CPM (if you want to lead delivery of complex deals).
