Was “zoom bombed” today. Technically not zoom bombing as admin believes it was one of our students, using a link we sent (after school so no way to track). Very traumatizing! My darling coworker stayed with me until I was calm enough to drive home. I have heard of zoom bombing but did not realize the traumatizing effects until I experienced it

Given the pandemic, would trying to set up lunches with MBB folks be weird?

I’m going to start business school in September and I want to get a feel for some offices and hopefully referrals. If COVID wasn’t a thing, I’d set up a trip, reach out to school alums on LinkedIn, and try to set up a lunch. Should I just try and set up a zoom call instead? If feels less personal, but if that’s the best that can happen, I guess it’s fine.

Looking at Chicago, Denver, and Dalls fwiw.

Hi! Can someone recommend a source for learning how do simple, fun music lessons on Zoom? I teach first grade and use music for my transitions. I would also like to play songs for them with my guitar, but am concerned it won’t sound good on zoom (the guitar, not my voice, which is bad, we established that long ago)

I have a zoom interview for a flight attendant position with southwest and advise would be greatly appreciated.

Generally curious how many companies offer phone reimbursement? My last gig did not but the current one does. Legally it seems, all employers are required to do so if we use our phone in literally any capacity (video call, slack, teams, emails etc). How prevalent is the issue of not reimbursing phone dues?

I love teaching art but am having to teach remotely to 1150 kids, k - 5. Have about 54 amazing elementary art teachers in my district that share SO much! I could retire (34 yrs), but just don’t want to because I love what I do! Feeling like my students aren’t getting what they should because I am struggling with Zoom, Microsoft, safe YouTube, bitmoji, embedding, downloads, editing, etc. Anyone else feeling this way?

Hey everyone,
I have a second round interview with a saas company selling education software. This interview will be a 30 minute zoom call with the VP of sales. I am someone from a non- traditional background with 2 years of sales-ish roles but no experience in tech sales and no straight forward sales job.
I did a tech sales bootcamp. Im just worried about what questions he will ask me? Im thinking more technical in terms of sales processes and even sales funnels? Any thoughts?

I cleared the Interview for SDET in Oracle today in the Manager discussion, He asked about the Expectations and I told 25 lpa, He said we cant pay that much as Your current is 14.7.
I said I can be flexible and minimum i can go for is 22 Lpa as i have another offer of 25 but considering oracle brand value i am ready to go settle but he said I can't offer you this much and left the zoom call. So How much oracle is offering for SDET of 8 Years of Experience?

I recently had a Director reach out to me to fill a role on their team. We had a great 1hr zoom meeting. Four days later I came into the office and met her and her 2nd in command, again great. I received an email asking for a very small “audition” (nothing crazy or anything they can utilize) however I still don’t know the salary. Anyone have any experience of an unknown salary this far into an interview process and how to break the ice?

I also have no clue what it’s going to be like in July to decide on it now, but want to send the invites soon and tell people

I am a 35 year old single Indian-American dude based in Tokyo. Am debating a move to NYC. It’s been tough here to make and sustain friendships and relationships in the last few years with covid and all. I think I just need a change. I see a lot of posts about how hard it is to make friends in your mid-30s. And then there’s a lot of subtle racism when it comes to dating too? Is it really that bad in NYC? Any insights and perspectives would be great!

Does anyone love/ have fun with an 8th or 7th grade lesson they would like to share?

I’m single & childless living pretty comfortably. I have 6 nieces/nephews who’s parents aren’t financially secure, so I want to start investing $ for them. I want to start out with $200/child. What’s the best course? I don’t want to do a 529 b/c I don’t want to assume they’ll all go to college. I’m leaning towards a trust, but idek where to start. Should I hire a financial advisor to help? Or is this straight forward to learn? Can I gift it or do I have to get my siblings involved to set it up?

I’m having a hard time fitting in w/ my fellow teachers. I’ve been here almost 2 years & I feel like I’m “tolerated” rather than accepted. I came in as the same time as another teacher & they seem to have accepted her. I was out last year on maternity leave. Before I left I almost considered them friends but when I came back I felt like everything changed. They didn’t really help me & threw me to the wolves. I feel alone this year & sometimes dread going to work & getting the silent treatment.

They roll in 4 deep to every meeting. They marketed themselves as expert in process mapping and SMEs but really seem lost. Still trying to come up with a project plan after 3 weeks.
