Sorry if this was posted before. But I’m new to investing so can everyone share their 401K retirement allocation % of their portfolio? I currently have Vanguard (ACN) and have no idea where to start and references would be so nice! TIA

Your allocation should be beast on your life circumstances and risk tolerance Z asking people this question is like asking everyone what their pant size and then buying that size, it might not fit you.

Lastly look at things like lifecycle funds, you pick your target retirement date and that gives you an investment plan, IBM we time as you get older the fund becomes more conservative. You can find one and copy it, assuming that it meets your needs.

I max mine out. I have done this for the last 6 years. I also have enough to invest heavily outside. But I make it a priority.

I.e., financial (possibility of receiving severance or any other benefits). Or is being laid off just all bad? Yale SOM (no $) or Johnson with a full ride? Goal is consulting (not MBB or bust but MBB is the target) in New York City. Will have to take out nearly full tuition loan for Yale. Concerned about Johnson’s strength in consulting placement even for T2; seems to have mixed reviews. Could also reapply this fall and add Tuck and Kellogg to the mix but unsure if it’s worth the risk as this fall may be very competitive.

I’m curious how much other people with similar incomes save/invest a year; I’m a 24M, making 70K a year in a HCOL city. I saved about $12K in my first year of working out of college, and I feel like that’s pretty good but I could’ve done better. My rent isn’t too pricey, but I went on 3 vacations, go out to the bars frequently, and spend pretty freely on food. Anyone care to share their income and corresponding savings for FIRE?
