CMO was texting and sending emails out on his phone during the entire pitch presentation we’d spent weeks on. Withdrew from the pitch the next day.
Wow. I would have as well. That is so rude.
Story from a previous agency. CPG brand had us in creative development for a year - they had spent more on more testing than on fees and production. Client kept finding reasons to do one more round of research instead of launching. Client says to agency president: "the trouble is, you're a creative agency." President resigns the account. Team heads down to the studio to get the client's quote typeset and framed as a gift to the president.
I love it
CMO was sexist and said he did not find any of the women on our team qualified to do the work he wanted
Seriously. Good riddance is right!

Goldberg is a good dude tho. Zimmerman, not so much.
Not quite firing, but close. Had Verizon as a client and lost them. Then was asked back for an initial sit down, went to the meeting and were advanced for a pitch opportunity but refused citing a lack of interest from our team members.
Felt damned good to say we didn’t want their money.

I mean you’ve heard of Papa John’s yeah? Win and then immediately resign.
Did he say that in a documented email or paper trail? That's so weird to me that an executive would say that without covering their tracks
How about the because the President of the (client) company was siphoning money and misreporting profits to the stockholders?
Our agency retainer was $434k per month, but we spent about 3-5 million per month in media buys that were 60-day pay. We asked to change it to a 2.5 million month retainer. The client refused; we used our 90-day notice to resign the account. Smart move! But it was the account the agency was built on - and the account I was recruited to take over! So, the entire account and creative team was let go after 60 days, except for me. I was still writing/producing 27 TV spots and 30 radio spots per week, so I lasted another month. I gave my 2-week notice the day before they were going to let me go! 🤣 ( I got to stay two more weeks and leave on a happy note!) The agency only lasted another year before it closed that office - it couldn’t recover from losing a $60 million account.
