Have you ever been told off by an older attorney of color? We have one Black partner at our firm and in conversation with him this morning he told me I should work on sounding and looking "more professional" and not let my "tone" or "bad attitude" get in the way. How do you deal with a manager who expects 3 months of work overnight? I have tried structuring , creating a plan to show him how the activities are being executed. My manager nominated me for judging a small programme happing virtually with two other head of the Department, but when I joined the programme someone from office outside was included for that with director and those two HODs were also not there... Unsure about what to do.. worked as an analyst out of school for $60K 2017-2019. Left after 1yr due to a toxic work environment & to care for my grandpa who had cancer in 2019. Was out of work for 2 years & now have an offer in accounting for the government at $40K.
