Sticking to a rigid routine helps my focus, but I also feel like it crushes my creativity. Does anyone else struggle with this? Any good strategies to find that balance?

We’ve have been fed a myth that our “best work” exists or that it’s achievable. In actuality the job is to create good enough work product within acceptable time frames (that the firm can sell on a 1/10 of an hour basis.)

That’s it. No one ever won a Pulitzer for writing the best contract or complaint. Save the surplus creativity for hobbies and your personal life, those are the things that will fulfill you, not work.

Help - how do I fight claims by scammer healthcare providers?

I recently went to 2 different providers.

Dentist, made appt via Zocdoc to see a dentist that was in network. Another dentist at the location saw me instead who was out of network. I have text evidence they said it would be covered before visit. Claim was denied - asking for ~500 dollars.

Saw a specialist who’s office staff verified my insurance would fully cover the claim. Get the claim, says they are out of network. Owe 600.

I’m one of the only attorneys in my Texas firm that had electricity, internet, and water this week. I was warm and comfortable but still could not get any work done because things going on in the outside world are distracting. When I try to work, I feel like I can barely hold a thought in my mind before I get the “wait, what am I doing again?” feeling. I just want to know, I’m not the only one that struggled this week to do any work, right?

One of my frustrations with myself (writing it out here so I can work on it) is that I will print out something that I need, such as a traffic collision report. I will read it without actually reading it. This results in spending time without actually retaining info. Does this happen to anyone else? I’ve found that I can actually focus when I truly force myself, but often this happens after I’ve discovered an error or an important piece of information that I should have noticed earlier.
