I am afraid after seeing layoffs news of EPAM, Publicis Sapient & most of the other companies calling employees in the office.
I love my WFH in PwC India & base location of Kolkata. & the best thing is stability in PwC India, they never lay off!!

I got hit with a Covid layoff. How discriminating should I be about my next step? I've got about a decade of experience in big law, general commercial lit. I've wanted to go in house for a few years, but positions for pure litigators are few and far between. I'm applying for in-house and firm positions, and also a few firm administrative roles that I don't want to do. Should I just take anything I can get? I'm ok on savings, just worried about long term career impact.

Anyone dealt with age discrimination at work or thought they were fired because of it? I have a strong hunch I was let go because I'm older than most of the team and they're trying to get a "fresh perspective." To me it just sounds like they're firing anyone over 50.

FTX is a prime example of what’s going on in tech the last couple years. So many people who have NO CLUE what they’re doing, hired by a friend, got handed a hefty 6 figure salary…then watched Netflix and tracked for 2-3 years since Covid started. We all know people who don’t do much and have some fancy made up title, we’re just seeing the repercussions of it all now. Mass layoffs is no surprise…and it’s all admin positions nothing really important.

Has anyone actually been fired from an agency position? Or has everyone been laid off due to $$?

My temp contract has been extended. I’m relieved to be able to pay the bills, but after giving 70-80 shots a day, I literally dream about giving vaccines almost every night! Struggling to keep positive about finding a new permanent job - I was laid off at the end of April, have applied to over 60 jobs, had 6 interviews, and no offers. I can’t go back to chain retail - it damn near broke me in my 20’s, and it’s much worse now.

. Salary discrepancy is a big issue.
As per their own market policy the package of a team lead or a consultant should be around 13 lpa excluding variable. But maximum employees are getting 2/3 of that.
Cant wait to quit and move on to some other company.
Work life balance is becoming a myth now!
And every year they layoff in one or other dept in the name of reorg.
People in MIS got upto 50-60% hike. And some people are working below the pay range.
