I adopted a kid while at Publicis. Got a week off and a sweet happy hour party.
I'm looking for parents. Are you a good cook?
Dude. Just go ask hr
Publicis offers up to $10K assistance according to the latest policy.
And publicis just sent thru new policy on parental leave today. If you've been with the company more than a year you get extra paid parental leave. Check out the email sent today
Same as if you have a kid naturally. As far as I know, no holding company offers financial help.
Publicis did pay for up to $15K in fertility drugs, which Omnicom did not. That was nice but effectively fruitless for us.
Thank you all for your help. I had a meeting scheduled with my HR REP but it's been moved twice. Also considering how one thing can be said but in practice it's different wanted to ask if anyone else has gone through the process
I hope you go through with the adoption - mad props and thank you!
Also, open adoption is def the way to go. Do not go abroad.
Overseas adoption has consistently shown to be rampant with fraud and abuse. You're signing up for a world of heartache, and have to ask yourself at what point you are buying a baby. Africa will be shut down soon, just like China, Guatemala, Russia were. It is becoming clear that adoption agencies seek out the most disorganized countries to operate in. There's a huge "re-homing" problem with overseas adoptions, where the children fail to bond, and families end up abandoning them. Reuters did an amazing story on that a few years ago. Dan Rather too.
Obviously you have to do what you want, just know that it isn't as great an option as most people think. I highly recommend domestic open adoption through a reputable agency--not a private lawyer. No matter what anyone tells you, once you adopt the kid, you are in your own.
Dammit. I knew I left too early!!!
Yes @copywriter will you grow up and do something outside of marketing. I read that they will give you up to 10k. Are there stipulations like must be married ?
Maybe that just went out to your office? I don't think Leo got that email.
yeah what a ridiculous place to ask this question. You literally have a human resources department that can answer this for you very quickly. Not all of us work at your agency. 🙄
Sorry Leo. The email said publicis media. So was thinking that OP being in media at a publicis agency would have gotten it. Assumed that was my only criteria for getting it.
Huge, when I left omnicom for Publicis, I had no idea Publicis would pay for up to $15K in fertility treatment. That gave us the green light to try again. It was huge for us. Glad I can share that knowledge.
Everyone make friends with the hr department. They are usually nice people and they have accurate up to date info on these things which change all the time. I had a child last year and was able to split my paternity leave however I wanted as long as I took it within 3 months of the birth.
This year you have to take it all at once. My point being. Ask HR
@creative director why would you suggest not going aboard ? I was hoping to adopt in West Africa vs. US
