This morning I locked my keys in the car and was late to work, and I have been heckled all shift by staff. They were short staffed while I was gone and things got stressful, so…took AAA 3 hours from start to finish. I'm furious.

I'm sorry to hear that you had a difficult morning and are feeling frustrated about the situation. It can be tough to deal with negative feedback from colleagues, especially when it's related to circumstances beyond your control. Here are a few suggestions for how you might handle the situation:

Take a deep breath: Before responding to your colleagues' comments, take a moment to breathe deeply and collect your thoughts. Responding in the heat of the moment can sometimes make things worse, so it's best to give yourself a chance to calm down first.

Address the issue: If you feel comfortable doing so, it may be helpful to have a conversation with your colleagues about what happened and how you feel. Let them know that you understand that things got stressful while you were gone, but that you did everything you could to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. You could also express how their comments have made you feel and ask them to be more supportive.

Stay positive: Even though the situation was frustrating, try to stay positive and focus on moving forward. Offer to help your colleagues catch up on any work that was missed while you were gone, and work collaboratively to get things back on track.

Take care of yourself: It's important to take care of yourself both physically and emotionally, especially after a stressful event. Take breaks when you can, and try to practice self-care activities such as exercise or meditation to help manage your stress levels.

Remember that everyone has bad days, and it's important to not let this one event define your entire work experience. If you continue to feel harassed or unsupported by your colleagues, it may be worth reaching out to a supervisor or HR representative to discuss the situation and explore potential solutions.

That must have been one hell of a hassle day. Your fury is justified.

Well, one of those unlucky days. Don't worry, tomorrow is another day and hopefully it's one different from today.

Yes. My experience is that when it starts badly , it continues to go down badly. Sometimes, when it’s like that, you are better off staying at home. Although it’s not my style, I find when I do stay at home in a situation similar to yours, I save a lot of extra aggravation that would and did come later.

I'm a cashier. We just got a new manager, and she's making things really hard for us. She starts work at 4:30am and leaves around 2:30pm, but she still expects us to stay until 6pm and work on the weekends! She gives us really long shifts and doesn't give us much time for breaks. And when we ask her about it, she gets mad.

I'm worried that if I speak up, she'll make my life even harder. I don't want to lose my job because of this—do you guys have any advice?

I recently joined a small-sized product based company.I have not been able to get along with my manager. He does not give me full information on assigned tasks and expects me to follow his order to the letter like in a military. When I ask him doubts he either scolds me or laughs at me like I am dumb. Because of this i am literally scared to talk to him. I am almost depressed because of this. I don't know if it is my fault and if mine how to improve myself.I am very sad bcoz of this

A coworker asked me to do something, I should have questioned it but did it because I trusted their seniority. I got called out for it by our boss on an email. Should I say something? I am planning to apologize to my boss and mention I’ll run it by them next time. But not sure if I should mention I had checked with my coworker who was in charge of that area.

So my fiancé and I are having a microwedding in Rocky Mountain National Park next year, and we’re working with an elopement planner.
She sent over a sample ceremony (intro, sweet poems + passages to be read, and example vows), and we read through it last night. I was reading it out loud while my fiancé made dinner, and it just hit me that this is really happening. I’m just really happy that I found someone who is willing to take a vow to spend his life with me and I’m so excited for that day :)
