Trying to decide if it's worthwhile to take a job at Google in the bay area. I didn't research anything about levels before hand. I have 15+ years. Started off the phone screen as L5 (which went horrible), after which they said I can do the onsite as L4 (which went great). But again they said they will only now consider me as L3. First team interview went well.

Should I relocate for effectively the same base pay but more expensive city? Is it likely I'll get promoted to L5 eventually?
