Well, my love for accounting screwed me. I started pursuing ACCA after my undergrad hoping to have a career in Audit. Few months into my articles I realised, this is not for me. There is more documentation than Accounting.
I tried shifting to advisory but they didn't let me.I completed my contract two months ago and trying to get out of this. Nobody considers me a candidate for TAS because my prior work experience is of Audit.

What should I do to change this and get a job in TAS?!

Wife has a services startup and in addition, has a great idea for a product / app that has the potential to be a B2B hit and B2C as well. Large market, creative idea and not too much competition. Will need sophisticated tech development. Given we are not dev / engg, what advice can you share with regards to getting someone tech hands-on with expertise on board? What are the different ways non tech founders approach this? Any ideas will be very helpful. Looking for a starting point. Thank you.

So...I started my own company in 2018. Things went off like a ROCKET. Its a small Remodeling company and we specialize in higher end bathrooms and kitchens etc. I love working with my hands. I also have my education though and...I am going to return to tech work. I just wonder..when is enough enough? When do you pull the plug?

At what point does the value of a degree fall off? I'm in my early 30s, and have five years of experience, and work on a very theoretically interesting project. I believe I'm on track to promotion in the next year. So, I could put in a year of full time school to check the box off, but I'd be sacrificing hobbies and social life (not to mention cost). Is this FOMO or is there real opportunity here?

Currently completing my first year as Senior in Audit and its become pretty apparent that going through the whole manager pipeline isn't really what I'd like to do. I’m a CPA and originally got into this for a stable / interesting job, but in the long-term I’d like to do something that either influences drafting of tax legislation or helps the public (however naive that may sound). Perhaps I’ve gotten too introspective during the pandemic. Don’t really want to go back for a JD and aside from keeping a roof over my head I’m not very motivated by money.
