What are your thoughts on obtaining a masters in the cybersecurity domain versus obtaining some certs like Network+ and SEC+ to get my foot in the door?

Masters programs with WGU and Purdue Global seem good, but demand a lot of time. Although I’m not opposed to working hard, I hear a masters is not required and often not recommended.

I understand that experience matters; which does not come from a cert or degree.

Thoughts?

What are my chances in IT if I join HPE now? I heard they use mostly legacy tools and tools limited to HPE only. Does it affect my job search in future?

Considering a transition back into consulting...which firms are recruiting?

I’m really discouraged. My after tax / after 401k contributions etc. take home pay is $6,500 monthly. I have $60,000 in savings / stocks for a down payment but even looking at a $550,000 home, my monthly payment would be about $3,400 from the calculators I’ve been using. Is that too high?

Hi fishes, my friend recently had a bitter experience with Dish Network. So her profile was shortlisted and they asked few questions over email. It did take good 2hrs to answer and she replied back. HM said we are good to go for interview and sent an invite. On the day of interview nobody turned up, neither they gave an update later. She did follow up for a couple of days but no response. Is there any reason why this happens ? Me being in HR field felt this to be a little unprofessional.

I’ve noticed that for some of these jobs that I can check every single box in the job description, I won’t even get an interview. I’m wondering if many of these jobs are posted for internal hires, but some stay open for weeks. What gives?
