What do I do when every interview I've gone to the hiring manager has went ahead before meeting me and inquired about me to my old employer which has petty and disgruntled employees who are miserable at their job and jealous I'm out. All the things they said are petty nitpicky things.

Senior revving up to manager promo. Only nervous about one thing at the manager level which is having to answer pointed “Why??” questions from higher up clients on live calls. I work for a specialized group in my litigation group and have had a wonderful experience and really respect and appreciate my boss, the co-chair of this specialized group. My natural instinct is to assume rejection if I have conflict with a partner or don’t think my feelings are reciprocated. I am currently unemployed (but looking) an opportunity to consult has potentially fallen into my lap. Before I shut it down for a lack of experience, I want to know if it's something that I can even do. It's a very very small company, not even 3 FTE. But they are looking for someone to come in, create a Handbook(I can do that), provide benefits, etc.

Is that difficult to implement? I can't imagine it being so, but I don't want to set myself up to fail.
