I’ve worked at AT&T as a sales consultant for 6 years and 8 months where we prospect, uncover, and close on leads. I’ve used Salesforce for the past 4 years during my tenure. I’ve done B2B sales where I’ve received awards for it for 2 years consecutively. Loads of troubleshooting, uncovering needs through consultative styled selling, and tech app subscriptions.

I’d been laid off. Sometimes they try to probe more and in my cases it was restructuring or downsizing (I’ve been laid off 3 times). I just say it’s a bummer it happened, but I’m looking forward to the new opportunities I might have otherwise overlooked.

I’d just say I left. If they probe feel free to share what you are comfortable with.
I’d also make it clear you are taking the job search seriously, aren’t in distress, are carefully considering opportunities for fit, and aren’t jumping at the first opportunity that comes your way.
Laid off is a relatively easy explanation (as others have shared). Don't worry about it at all. Try to keep the time gap minimal.
Getting fired is the challenge.
Yup, having a partner reference handy is good to have on your back pocket if there is any concern that the separation was performance related

But don’t they laid off those who they consider to be at the bottom in terms of performance?
When deep cuts happen, whoever is on the beach, even top performers are in jeopardy.
