Internal audit is by far the most common exit. Consulting is very difficult. Why would they hire an internal auditor? You will need a very good answer to that... I used to be in risk so this is what I've seen.
If IA and compliance isn't your thing, I'd stay far away. They may call it advisory or consulting, but risk is compliance work. I absolutely hated that job lol.

Yeah idk why Deloitte does it that way for all of advisory. I know protiviti calls it RFA but it's just IA work. KPMG calls it risk advisory and I think EY used to as well. These names always change around but I think the question is around IA work.
Avoid it at all costs. They brand it as consulting, when in reality it’s just accounting based work pretty much. Pay is alot lower than consulting (excluding cyber)
Avoid IT audit or internal audit
