Internal audit is by far the most common exit. Consulting is very difficult. Why would they hire an internal auditor? You will need a very good answer to that... I used to be in risk so this is what I've seen.

If IA and compliance isn't your thing, I'd stay far away. They may call it advisory or consulting, but risk is compliance work. I absolutely hated that job lol.

like

Yeah idk why Deloitte does it that way for all of advisory. I know protiviti calls it RFA but it's just IA work. KPMG calls it risk advisory and I think EY used to as well. These names always change around but I think the question is around IA work.

Avoid it at all costs. They brand it as consulting, when in reality it’s just accounting based work pretty much. Pay is alot lower than consulting (excluding cyber)

One of my junior associates recently resigned and I've been trying to make an exit myself for several months now. The job market has been really competitive but I am getting closer to getting a new job and moving on. The firm culture isn't great and work-life balance is non existent. I work with great people. Really can’t say anything bad about my firm in general either. But…I still dislike the entire premise of law firm life, the billable hour, etc.. I’d love to work in a law school setting as a counselor or something but I can’t afford the pay cut. *sigh* Does anyone feel like being a lawyer is just doing homework all day? First world problems I suppose. I’m very thankful to have a job ❤️

Hi everyone. I'm pretty early in my career (just over 1 YOE) & not really enjoying my current role as a Consultant/Developer because of the type of projects I get combined with some mobility issues. However, I'm really interested in technical program management or project management and I'm looking for any advice on how to get there bc I've been applying, but can't even seem to get a call back.

(Also would really appreciate some likes on this post to get my 11 likes out of the way 😀)

It's my first month in a new job as Product Owner. I went from a company that digital product development was their secondary focus along with consultancy services, to a company that their only focus is the product. The difference in scale as well as the different domain, certainly feeds into my imposter syndrome. What are the things I should focus to achieve within my first few months at the new job?

Anyone here know what an FPX certification is? Curious, a few roles at J&J have a requirement for it but I can't find anything online.

At what point does the value of a degree fall off? I'm in my early 30s, and have five years of experience, and work on a very theoretically interesting project. I believe I'm on track to promotion in the next year. So, I could put in a year of full time school to check the box off, but I'd be sacrificing hobbies and social life (not to mention cost). Is this FOMO or is there real opportunity here?
