NJ. 15% gross. I have a $300k mortgage on a $700k house. I pay $2360/m on a $160k base salary.

7% now as our income has risen but it was a higher percentage (13%) when we bought 8 years ago. We live in MA.

We have a 1.8k mortgage on 250k gross income. House was 255k and we put 5% down years ago and are now locked into a 2.5% fixed interest rate. We would like to move into a nicer neighborhood / bigger home eventually but we need to save up and earn more.

I think like 12% - more like 16% for housing in total. Dallas.

It was closer to 30% when we bought 10 years ago but even with a refi to a 15 year fixed our income has grown to the point that it’s a small fraction now.

0% small town Washington state. I try to pay cash, sometimes a short term owner carry.

I saw the data on this today. The national average is 21%, which is down significantly from a few years ago when it was 36%

Edit: I speculate this is because people stayed in place while they started earning more and stopped moving because of rates

Based on the Gross salary offered I have calculated the in hand salary per month would be around 152000 considering 150000 in 80C, 50000 in NPS and 200000 deductions due to home loan interest. Total tax liability is around 400000. Any other options do I have to save tax further (other than HRA, LTA)? Thanks in advance.

Hi all, I’m in the north east metro area and due to the current RE market we decided to look into PA specifically Lancaster. Anyone in this market and have any thoughts on where it’s headed? We’re looking purchasing a single family property all cash at 110k that rents for $1100 a month. The last owner bought for 35k like 15 years ago 😩 but hoping buying and holding for a few years will give a equal or greater returns over the long run.

I was recently offered a Zoom interview. The school had 10 interview slots for me to choose from. Three were one day this week and the rest are next week. I chose the first time slot available. We are renovating a condo and the previous owner had two Crane toilets (not sure how old, but functioning although seals are old according to our contractor). Back outlet flour mount ones are the only options for the building, and one toilet can cost $300-$500.

We are redoing all the bathroom tiles and walls and debating what we should do with the two toilets. Would resealing the toilets extend the use life? Or should we just replace the toilets? Any other recommendations? TIA!!

I’m pretty responsive for things they need help with like laundry machine got broken or pantry doors fell off. So I had sent people to fix those maintenance and repair issues.

I went under contract last fall for a new build that will be done later this year. In the contract the seller/builder included a clause that gave them the ability to change the price without cause anytime before the house is complete. I am looking into buying a multi unit (dullex,triplex,quad) in Chicago ideally in Lakeview East/West, Lincoln Park, Wicker Park, Logan Square, Bucktown areas.

This will be my first property and planning on living in one of the units. Downpayment will come from what I have in stock market but wondering if anyone has any models to how to analyze if it would be a good investment property. Would appreciate any help? I am considering putting down an offer for a TH in a community that has Mello Roos. It gets added to the property tax. I am looking at paying an additional 5-6k for that.

Online videos say it’s all good because the money gets invested in building the community .
