Consider obtaining additional education or certification, volunteering in a related field, attending industry events and networking, participating in professional organizations, and starting a side project or learning a new skill to enhance your resume and professional skills. The key is to find activities that are relevant to your industry and show potential employers your skills and dedication.
I try to use my free time to stay up to date on industry trends and news. Recently, I've been taking courses online to expand my knowledge in my field and brush up on my skills. I also like to attend networking events and conferences in my city to stay connected and meet other professionals, which can be a great way to learn more and open up new opportunities.

I'd do something fulfilling other than work. Get a hobby. Go to the gym. Call a friend. Read. Soft skills are important, so this will make you a more interesting employee.
If you’d like to directly further your career, spend time connecting with mentors and peers you admire. Do one coffee/phone chat a week.
