Going through this currently.
1)My advice would be never have any discussion apart from work with your manager
2) Think twice before speaking even if its work related.
3) Keep your tracks clean (note down how much time you spend on each and every task) , because if you ever complain this to HR this managers are so cunning that they will deflect everything towards you.(Beside HRs have zero intrest in solving our problems)
4) Never try to fix the System either be a part of it or start looking elsewhere.
Perfect!!!
My friend has faced similar situations and the only way out is to switch the company as soon as possible or discuss this with HR in case you recently switched.
Raise your voice against such issues and ask for a release.
You are not working for free to hear or bear toxicity of anyone, especially when these companies keep promoting about mental health advocates and toxic free work culture.
He clearly said he says stuff and that is being forwarded to higher management, first thing he should do is stop talking nonsense work related stuff with manager or colleagues if it is being used against him. practice diplomacy, create connections and then have a upper hand, no point in just cribbing
Agreed. Need to learn this . But off topic I never saw the manager picking on the other t members. Professionally why does a leader become biased ?
It has so many reasons for a manager to become bias. In 2 of my own experience the manager and the person whom they support kind of have some relationship/ affair. In your case it could be anything like they belong to same state/ same language like dat
Same thing mann
Sane here bro .can't do much with it
Learn diplomacy, seems like a lack of it
I agree I lack it . 😮💨
Hi Technical Lead 1 , I didn't say anything non- sensical . It's just that the t-member take vacations in the middle of work projects . It then comes to me (has happened often ) . Earlier I worked . But later it translated into things like working on ppl's leftover after they have logged out befor work hrs end and similar instances of diff kinds .But now it has become a practice. So my statement was just to let my manager know that we have to do it on our own .
Note : I make it a point to take a vacation in my free month after my deliverables are done and no one has to bear my overhead behind me . It's a general practice around also to take planned leaves higher than 10 days or so only when you're work calendar is lightest not just when you're in the heaviest time. Also , if we have say 1-2 day leaves or so ,the practice is that we try to wind up the important pieces in advance . That enables other t members to focus on their work as well . I am not cribbing on anything that's like it's an urgent leave or something unplanned sort of . It's just that you know your project calendar in begginning of the yr itself . Ofcourse we can cover for members in times of urgency or high load or few one off planned leave instances as well ...
I understand your concern but you need to find a better way to handle these situations.
If you’re being assigned additional work do not deny straight away or complain about it.
Just put forward you have so and so things in your bucket right now, if you had to do additional stuff those things will be impacted. Take extra time to complete your things when you are being burdened with other’s work, if you keep doing they will be added in your queue by default.
And if at all you do someone’s work make sure to take credit for it.
Learn how to showcase your work , whatever you said about your work make sure your manager sees it , how that you need to figure out.
These are few tips from my end , work on your soft skills, diplomacy etc along with technical to be able to grow further 😊
Every manager is a shit show , try being manipulative and get what you want, it’s hunt or be hunted world , Good Luck 🤞
I m in same situation
