Hi fishes,
Any guess how many people are laid off from Publicis sapient in past few days? Really scared for my future as I'm also under probation period and deeply regret for my choice of joining this firm...I don't understand why were they recruiting peeps when they were short of projects. Publicis Sapient

I agree with bcg1. Trying to get "laid off" has worse implications ban you realize. You seriously think it's a good idea to have multiple think you suck at your job just to keep money that 5 years from now will seem like nothing? Your network should be more important
Screw integrity...this is strictly business and you should do whatever benefits you. If there is a way for you to retain your bonus, you should 100% explore it. The firm wouldnt blink an eye lid in letting you go tomorrow if they so wanted, so why should we care about them. Go ahead and do whats right for YOU, not for anyone else. May the force be with you!
This like signing a prenup and then trying to get out of it during the divorce because you didn't like how the terms of the prenup ended up.
It sounds like you're thinking very emotionally about the whole situation. Either way, if you'd like to get around the contracts terms, just roll off whatever you're on now and sit on the bench for a few months. You should be let go during the mid year review. An unsolicited piece for you to think about is whether or not that time is worth not repaying the sign on bonus, since you seem to put a premium on minimizing the time you spend in this role
1) integrity issues everyone else said.
2) realistically, to be let go you'd have to be bad at your job but not derelict. This means you would get put on an performance improvement plan at year end and then have to suck again next year. Even assuming you're one cycle in you'd likely have a full year being miserable. Opportunity cost and emotional health makes this likely not worth it.
It's not really up to you tho
You received a 35k signing bonus you have to repay prorated ????? I've never heard of that!
FYI, the phrase is "I couldn't care less" not "I could care less".
How could a signing bonus possibly serve to trap someone? You are free to leave at any time, you just have to give (part of) it back per the contract you signed.
What P1 said and I like the way you think OP
Tell them you'd like placement assistance with an industry client. You'll be fired.
Hope OP gets fired and has to repay 😂
Stop feeding yourself this "woe is me" and David vs Goliath bullshit 👌🏽😘
It seems likely that your attitude, despite any effort you might make to suppress it, is detected by your peers and colleagues. That kind of negativity feeds on itself - if you're in a small office or team, it's a cancer on the team's morale (and to be clear I'm not saying you're the source, I'm just suggesting you could be an amplifier). I really don't recognize the firm you're talking about. And it would seem that a firm that gave you a 35k signing bonus doesn't think you're a peon, they thought you were a talented person worth the investment. I sincerely wish you luck. I would suggest proposing to your new employer that they help you keep your word and repay the bonus.
Just stop going to work. Like, don't respond to emails/phone.

What in your mind is the difference between firing vs. let go?
OP why don't you go hang out with "consultant" who currently has the top post "getting let go because of expense fraud"....seems like they have the answers you're looking for.
No matter how much you hate it, don't burn a bridge unnecessarily. I left Accenture 5 months into my first year and had to pay back a prorated bonus amount. In coming to D, I negotiated to have this additional amount added to my bonus.
Op, you may have enough pto that it can offset the payback, not sure how long you've been in the working world but you'd be surprised how small a world it is,
You're a jerk P2, you don't know my story... I'm a peon to this company..shame on you.
OP:- better explain this to new employer and negotiate joining bonus. Use the joining bonus from new firm to pay back to PwC
