I did the becker fast pass before the recent exam changes. I competed all 4 in 4 months with a week off in between each. This was over thanksgiving and holiday break as well, but I was working full time. Only failed audit :(. I found it was helpful to have a scheduled class every day and then the time crunch made me laser focused. I actually passed BEC after only 7 days of studying.
I retained a shit ton from lectures for some areas (AUD). For others I focused not on MCQ (FAR, since I just graduated and remembered most of it). Never listen to anyone who tells you the one method that worked for them is the only way. Try lectures, try MCQ, do some combination that works for you
I’m with pwc6. That’s silly for someone to say MC is the only way to go. I focused more on lectures and did better
3 days BEC first try. Passed with mid-80s
I took BEC after 18 hours of studying overnight and got an 86. Tried to pull off the same with REG/AUD and failed both so I don’t recommend it
I just finished the last module of Audit (Becker) and I have the exam scheduled for 1/5. Going to start studying for BEC now and try to take that 1/15
KPMG 2 that is beyond impressive. Just the motivation I needed!
Good luck PWC! Also, side note those were consecutive days of studying.. no work for REG and FAR. The others were will working. But honestly my regiment was read, MC, Flashcards, and Ninja notes. Never messed with sim aside to learn how to navigate them..
I think this all depends on how much time has passed since you've been in school. I'm 3 years out. So i have to relearn all the concepts
Took all exams in a span of 2.5 months and studied for about 3 weeks prior, so about 4 weeks per test
@EY 4 what was your strategy?
2 weeks for REG
Passed all four in under 4 months, but I was in grad school part-time and I focused on the CPA about 30-40 hours per week. I did Becker according to the recommendations, with lectures and MCQ following. I scored above 90 on all 4 sections, so I obviously studied too much, but I think treating it as my main priority and full-time job is what helped me stay focused. Good luck!
@CH1, it was the first time taking it. I just didn’t have any more time to study before my NTS was set to expire, so I watched the lectures then winged it. The sooner you take it after graduation the better the chances are you’ll still remember enough from your classes. No way I could do that now haha
3 days BEC
@ey4: 30 hrs!!!! Was it a re-take?
For FAR I feel like I still have to study the book and lectures a little before the MCQs. I kept bombing them and I felt like it wasn’t helping :(
I did REG with about 30 hours of total study time.
For you all doing MCQs with small hours. Were you actually getting the questions right at the end or still taking each question as a learning/note point? So like 50% average but learning. Or kept going until you were getting passing scores?
Reg tips please ...
Damn pwc 8
Deloitte - how many years/months (if any) out of school were you?
