How early is too early to ask for a raise?
Hi all. I am trying to determine if I am being compensated fairly. I am a tax manager (about to start my second year as manager) and have been with EY since staff 1. I was promoted to manager in June 2020 (during covid) and received a 7.5% raise. The class above me has mentioned they received much higher raises during their promotion years. My base salary is now approx. 97K. Any insights would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

At CR, we do our round tables in May, and make the decision to promote or not in June. Promotions are announced to the firm on July 1, and take effect on 9/1. Raises/new salaries are communicated approximately in the end of August and hit in the 9/15 pay check.
Not sure what you mean about your second question. Utilization is the amount of hours you charge to client codes. Our work week is based off of 37.5 hours, so to get a utilization percentage for the week, you’d take your charged hours to clients and divide by 37.5 (ie 37.5 hours charged to clients is 100% utilized)
Heard it will be in person end of July for training
7/1 for PwC, but we also have mid-year promotions effective 1/1
