Hi Fishes,
Any news of hikes in OSSI?
I was in BigLaw for 9 years and left because I hit my savings target. FIRE kept me motivated. I’m now primarily supporting my wife’s career (BigLaw counsel) as her job has unparalleled flexibility and she legit enjoys it, so we’ll use that to get the rest of the way to full financial independence. For myself, I’m currently focused on writing, wildlife photography, and fitness goals. Its unlikely that I will return to the legal field in the future. I’ve written more about it here if interested: https://www.attorneyevolved.com/post/biglaw-early-retirement

Maybe? Then again, our industry is known for shit pay.
It's unlikely, but certainly possible, that they lied.
No they wouldn't, but keep in mind salary bands change often.
@SMP1, you've gotten your HR to show you salary bands? I've never heard of this happening and seems incredibly unlikely. Am I crazy?
Every time! May I please see the salary ranges for this position?
I mean. I have zero reason to concoct that entire story 😂
You can ask to see salary ranges. I did every time I was hoping for a promo and wanted to see the most I could get. My first assistant planner job I actually took a pay cut because I was an hourly admin in account management making over time pay. I almost refused, but it was a good career opportunity overall. They were already concerned because they offered me max for my position and others with more experience were getting paid less, but at least they were transparent with me. Unfortunately, by the next promotion they only matched what I made as an admin and ultimately I left for a better opportunity. All of that is a longwinded way of saying do not be afraid to ask for transparency where your career is concerned.
