The Kool Aid is definitely stronger at PwC.
To PwC 18 - to “drink the Kool -Aid” is a phrase often linked with a cult following and originated with the 1978 mass murder-suicide of a religious cult, where the leader convinced his followers to kill themselves by drinking a poisoned drink, similar to KoolAid. (If you are not from the US, KoolAid is a sugary kids drink. )

Also can google Jonestown Massacre.
I came from pwc and am at Deloitte now. I am sure it depends heavily on your particular group, but I felt like pwc had a terrible culture that definitely did not practice what they preached from the top down. Deloitte is miles better and actually care about each team member individually.
Yes, exactly. That’s why I said it depends heavily on your team. My team (and overall larger group) was extremely toxic.
Can we agree KPMG is the worst though 👨💻
No, D was for me.
I have always heard the culture at PWC is very white centered and not so diverse. Having worked at Deloitte I think the audit practice is very diverse at least in NYC. But it’s also true team varies from place to place.
I one heard the the lowercase lowercase “w” was meant a reference to small “wieners”, which makes sense for most of these guys…
Worked at all B4 except Deloitte and much prefer the folks and more so technology at PwC. Firms have their stereotypes and differences in each group so YMMV.
Mobile T&E is like a 90’s platform. Laugh out loud pathetic
Never worked at Deloitte, but PwC certainly tries when it comes to culture. You’ll probably work the same hours at either, but leadership, starting at the top, very much prioritizes culture, and Deloitte doesn’t exactly have that reputation, in general. Specific groups and teams may vary I’m sure…

Culture and people and PwC are great 👍
PwC NYM Deals was the most toxic work environment I’ve ever been in. Can’t imagine Deloitte being as bad.
Christ I’m glad you’re gone
I worked at both, I would say Deloitte looks better so far in term of culture. PwC has better technology.
I felt PwC was much more like a gang environment with a recurring revenue coming from the assurance practice (one group controls a team, you are either in or out), and since this is going for a long time, people do not want to lose their privileges unless there is a risk.
Deloitte cares about its image as most of their revenue is not as recurring as pwc, they have to diversify otherwise they won't get new opportunities. The assurance practice won't produce recurring revenue to help them survive if their image is impacted. They need their resources to keep the relationship going even after they leave. Plus all the LOS talk to each another on frequent basis with less politics than pwc.
Worked at both and agreed
EY :)
Pro
Deloitte (:
I love PwC 🥺
It’ll depend on the city and individual group more than anything. I’m in a PwC office with over 3,000 people and I really like my group, but I know people who i interned find their groups to be kinda toxic.
But I firmly do believe that PwC kool aid just hits differently.
Worked at both and it’s certainly Deloitte
I transferred groups in PwC. Culture is very different from practice, LOS, and even team. Felt like a different firm when I transferred. I think nobody really can have a perspective but I’ve been happy w/PwC.
What did you transfer tovm?
I love PwC. Didn’t realize how good things could be until I left Deloitte after working with two groups. Tim Ryan is amazing.
D was a LOT more internally competitive than P is in Technology.
PwC had me in the worst most toxic environment for my first team. Luckily I was able to transfer into a new audit area and my new team is much better, but It was very disheartening to be working long hours for people who do not respect you
Sounds like me

*laughs in billable hours*
Def not Deloitte
