If you’re at Capco now and have an opportunity to join OW (assuming you like FS) do not think twice.
Could be risky to join as an experienced hire at a firm with more complex deliverables (like OW). May be in my favour to come in as entry level if I can land a role via my network, since the skills built here mostly aren't transferable (especially on this staff aug project). Minimal modeling or growth strategy work exposure so far, but strong past projects (although short in duration). Additionally, entry level receive better onboarding and training than exp hires.
Would sacrifice this promotion, my network, work life balance (ie. my relationship), local projects, as well as ending up with a year on my CV that may look bad, but overall it would be a downpayment on a more fruitful and exciting career.
Great points. When I say little learning I mean relative to past projects and peers elsewhere. Learning a very bank specific function in which learning has now quickly tapered off, and repetition has set in. Although I would totally sell this differently in an interview.
Don't overthink this
OW is leagues above Capco. Take the job, you may not get another shot.
Make the jump, definitely worth it even at entry level.
