Feeling a similar way within my current company. Wouldn’t recommend leaving without a job lined up, unless you’ve got a lot of savings set aside for something like that, but IMO that should be for things you can control. I’d either recommend elevating your concerns with your upper management & discuss some short term solutions to give you some relief. And then at the same time start looking elsewhere. Also tap into friends, therapists, coaches, etc. if you feel you need outside support. It’s so important to take care of our minds & bodies. Wishing you good things ahead!
Years ago I felt the same working on a high-pressure car account. President of the agency was a bully and would take my work and present it externally as his own, while marginalizing me internally at the same time. His lapdog minions quickly picked up on it and soon I was the office leper — though he continued to have me write strategy and his decks. After four years of this, completely unplanned, I snapped and had a “take this job and shove it” moment. Liberating and exhilarating! Until I got home and triumphantly told my wife the story. She was not impressed and reminded me of the stack of bills on the kitchen table. Quite the crisis — but within two very stressful months I found the best job I’ve ever had, client-side for a major car company. So, depending on your financial circumstances I wouldn’t recommend it, but on the other hand it worked out great for me.
Have you tried talking to someone about your issues. If you generally do a good job maybe things could be arranged to take pressure of yourself as they might not be aware of the bad planning . Also if you got savings and can be a while with out a gig and recharge yourself why not. Or just start looking now and take it easy at work while you do.
I would personally start looking right now, if it's not a good place and it's not getting better...it's going to take time to find something but trust me, there are always better things out there. I think quite a few places are looking at the moment
Focus on figuring out what’s important to you before jumping into another situation you may regret. Getting another job just to get away usually doesn’t bring great things. Act from a place of love and opportunity, not fear.
