Hi all, so this is probably really menial compared to what others are going through here, so I apologize in advance. Background: I’ve moved XC from Philadelphia to San Francisco for an amazing career opportunity. My professional life is great, but I feel empty. All my coworkers are virtual, so it’s hard to meet up. And the fact that I’m not emotionally close with any of my family doesn’t help. Is it normal to have anxiety or depressive-type thoughts after a huge move? How do I cope with this?

Associate for 8 months. I don’t think I have the support on my engagements that I feel like I need. In July there was a two week period where, it’s either my seniors and managers had left the firm, my senior was MIA and there was no manager assigned or my senior was OOO,also my engagements are understaffed and I’ve just been feeling overwhelmed. So, I am not a hyper saver like a lot of folks on here but I am conscious about the future. My husband and I both work highish paying jobs that I imagine us staying in/moving up at for the foreseeable future. We max our 401ks and invest another 20-30k a year in index funds and have a 90k emergency fund. We have about 200k ish of liquid capital available and live in San Francisco. As housing prices begin to drop, I am wondering pushing to save more and invest less to buy a house (at least $1m)…

My vibe is very much lay by the pool/beach, order cocktails to my chair, and chill on a patio with delicious food but am really not seeing anything like that in San Diego (other than the Coronado which is shockingly expensive). Any recs for that type of hotel in the area or am I just totally off base on the SD vibe?
