Hi everyone! currently i’m an undergrad majoring in accounting. I’m thinking abt hitting that 150 credits by doing a master degree. Should i study my Masters in Accounting or something related to Tech? Do that extra 30 credits need to be something related to Acct to sit for the CPA exam? What would be an ideal master to pair w a bachelor in accounting? I’m an international student so i hope i would find a job that’s going to sponsor H1B visa! Thank you~

Taking my REG CPA exam this week. Any thoughts on why it has one of the highest pass rates? I’m finding the content on the harder side (may just be me!).

Can any recent grad who has started or passed the CPA exam give me advice on how to go about the exam process/the timeline of it all? I graduate with 150 in May and plan to test in Virginia. I’m unsure when to start studying and when to apply to take the exam. I want to test as soon as I can once I graduate but I’m worried I might miss a deadline or get pushed back due to application processing time.

With the new CPA format coming in late 2023/early 2024, does anyone know if existing credits will be transferred over? Say, for example, you have 2 exams passed before the CPA Exam changes (AUD and FAR), would the credit Transfer over as long as your 18 months don’t expire, or would you lose credit and be forced to start over?

Has anyone taken or looked into LSU's MBA with accounting concentration online program?? I graduate with my bachelors in December and I am trying to see what program I want to do to get the last 30 credit hours for the CPA exam.

Hi- please help me understand!

I recently passed all 4 sections of the CPA exam. I am currently in Michigan state but applied for the exam through Alaska state. Now I want to transfer my scores from AK to MI and need to know the process. I do not meet MI educational requirements (don't have tax and audit credits). If I transfer scores from AK to MI and apply for license in MI, will I get the license or MI will ask to complete the educational requirements. I dont want to take the CPA exam again

One of my classmates told me that the CPA exam will have a huge change in 2024, they will do three exams, and one is your choice. Is that right? What would happen if I took the CPA at the end of 2023?

how did y'all decide which cpa exam review course is right for you?

I'm posting because I'm looking for some guidance on what kinds of things I should be doing to look at starting my career in public accounting once I graduate this December. I’m a non-traditional student at a non-targeted school with little to no accounting experience, I will be completing my master's also so that I can gain the 150 Credit hours needed to sit for the CPA exam. I have applied to a few associate positions but have been turned away from each can anyone offer any advice?

Has anyone ever taken an unscheduled break during a CPA exam during a testlet? Was your exam then voided? Or what were the repercussions?

I got a contract offer to work with EY for one year tenure for auditing . Job description is not particularly mentioned in offer letter but job position is mentioned as finance associate. EY will also partially fund for my CPA exam. Do you think my job will deal with for core auditing or just back end work? Also will I have access to learning platforms while under contract employment?

Now want to move and want to specialized in tax.

Hold master degree in accounting and eligible to sit a cpa exam.

Plan to apply as senior tax associate.
Should I lower the position since I do not have big firm exerience?

Any comments or advise appreciated!!

Is it a time frame for taking a CPA exam? What means is that I graduated for a few years but didn’t take CPA exam. After starting with a job at PA, I always feel exhausted and endless work. Now, I don’t have a busy schedule anymore, then think of taking CPA exam will be an option. Before I submit application and paperwork, I have to make sure if my credits are still valid. That’s the reason why I’m asking if there is a time frame for taking a CPA exam.

What order should I take the CPA exam in? Thinking FAR first since it will probably be hardest and the clock won’t start ticking if I fail.

Hi, I was recently fired from my job (wasn't a great fit for the role) and I've been job hunting for the past two weeks. I mostly have government audit experience. I'm interested in public accounting. I've applied for some experienced associate roles online but haven't heard anything back regarding these applications or got an auto-reject email.

I have my 150 and passed the CPA exam. I'm interested in audit roles, either remote or hybrid to DC or Boston. LMK if your firm is hiring!

Question for any CPAs here who play video games in their free time as a hobby: Is it possible or impossible to be able to study/pass all 4 parts of the CPA exam and be able to have some time for video game leisure? If it is possible, then how did you do it?

Very curious as I am an avid gamer, but am realizing that it may be time to say goodbye to that for several months-to a year if I want to pass all exams in one try. I will appreciate any helpful feedback!

Compared to other countries equivalents, the CPA exam in the US is a joke.
In Germany you need at least 3 years of work experience in Audit/public accounting, before being qualified to sit the exams and act as a "cpa". In the big 4, passing the exams, will guarantee an instant promotion to Manager. The exam is considered to be the hardest professional/post grad exam in the country

I flunked the cpa exam. I got a 30%. I have no idea how to come back from this. Seriously could use some advice :/ (for context I didn’t study the last 4 chapters due to family emergency & bad planning).

Best CPA exam part to start with for tax staff?

Anyone looking for a good supplement to Becker or any course really. I’d highly recommend i75 Skinny Bundle. Darius Clark basically fills in the gaps that Becker does not. Went from a 55 on CPA exam to 80 after a month of studying with Darius. So just throwing it out there for you guys who are studying and looking for a good supplement.

How long did it take your CPA exam application to be approved? It has been over a month for me, but on my application status it is marked they received all my information. I checked the board meeting notes for the upcoming meeting and my name isn’t listed in the approve section. I am thinking my application is sitting in the denied file or processing is delayed. Just wondering what everyone else has experienced.
