I have 2 YOE at Acn & in the Consulting Development Program. I’ve been a pmo analyst/scrum master/functional designer/created power bi data visualizations & am currently on a culture transformation project. I’d like to go to a start up or faang and I’ve applied to countless jobs but have gotten no requests for interviews. Any idea What could be the reason????

I’ve got an interview for a UI designer position on Tuesday and meeting with the senior developer first. What can I expect from this first round? It’s been so long since I’ve interviewed

Looking for recommendations for job interview coaches or classes. I keep getting to the final or next to final round for mid to senior level Product Designer roles, but have yet to get to the job offer stage. I’ve been DIY and practicing using online resources. Maybe I need to bring people into this.

How far back and how often can you reschedule an interview at FAANG, and still have a good shot at landing the job?

For context: I’m interviewing for Product and UX Designer jobs. With everything on my plate, I’m not as ready as I need to be and want more time, whatever additional length of time I can get before they completely fill headcount.

Can you think of any good examples of a good slide deck for project presentations? Please link me to them. I’m going through interviews for Product Designer roles where I’ll need to present and discuss projects I’ve worked on. I would like to see what makes a good slide presentation for a design interview.

What’s the number one question you would ask when interviewing a remote freelance designer?

I have been a good designer for many years and have been jumping from job to job but never has it been easy to get an interview. Then finally, When I do get one, my interviews goes great through 5th round and towards the end I’ll get the dreaded email “thank you but we chose another candidate.” I can say for sure in one or two of my previous jobs I’ve had some bad bosses and I know they didn’t like me very much. How can I find out if they say negative things about me? Is there a secret file?

What are some interview questions you would ask a temp designer for a few weeks of gig

How would you describe the difference between a production designer role and a graphic designer role? Interviewed for a design job that ended up being more production based and kind of disappointed.

I don’t want to get low balled as I have been in the past. Is it unreasonable to ask for what’s market value when it’s a team of 5?

Hi everyone!

I have an interview with the CTO of a growing startup on Monday. It’s for a technical product owner position. I’ve already interviewed with their lead product designer and technical PM so far which included a case study round as well. This round with the CTO will be my last round. What kind of questions should I expect? Specific inputs and general motivation will definitely help since I’ve been doubting my capabilities a lot recently.

I want to move to NYC so that means a new job search.
I wonder how people prepare for their portfolio while your work is owned by your current company. Do you recreate some of those work and explain in your case study?

And, how much of salary do you need in NYC as still a junior level UX/UI designer?
YOE in UX/UI field: 2 years and 3 years of some other design experiences.

Anyone have any experience interviewing for a Product Designer role at KOHO, the Canadian fintech company?

I just interviewed with Amazon for the Sr. PM position. I had four back to back interviews. Two of which were also PMs. However, who was the bar raiser in this case if the third was a UI Designer and the fourth was a Software Engineer? 🤔

I have a opportunity but I’m not sure how to maximize it or even have the conversation. I’ve been approached by two different companies to take senior designer or higher positions. I wasn’t looking and I’m very happy with where I am but people recommended me and a recruiter reached out. I’ve chatted with both and one wants me to interview next week. The other wants to have another chat and “try to make the job more shiny to me”. How can I use this to gain a bump at my current job?

So I just joined a team as a product designer under the pretence I would be acting as a UX designer.

In talks with product managers, they express that their role encompasses being advocates for the user. Which is great, but they also stated their role is to conduct interviews, determine and solve problems, and provide rough wireframes of their proposed solution.

They say they'll involve me in the process but I am worried I'll be boxed into being just a UI designer.

Has anyone dealt with this?

Hello! I'm currently a product designer at a startup and we're currently hiring for a Lead Product Designer. I've been helping my director write up an interview format and was wondering if there was anything different about lead designer interviews? When I was going through the interview process at my company I had the following steps: phone screen, hiring manager screen, onsite (portfolio review, design collab, stakeholder collab, eng collab).
