How bad is it to take a role that is leveled down in title but more money? As in- going from Director to Senior Manager but it’s a 20% increase in base pay?

2 years out of college, Currently beginning a “manager” role doing CDD at a boutique strategy firm, and will be officially promoted in November. for various reasons, really thinking my best exit option will be MBA, and I am wondering if waiting til 3rd round to apply will improve my chances (given more experience as a manager). Is that a fair assumption? 770 GMAT, engineering at T20 university

For those who moved from a client serving role to an internal role in public accounting while at a fairly high level (experienced manager or senior manager), did you take a pay cut or does your pay stay flat when you transition with minimal increases in subsequent years? Also what role are you in now? I really like EY and the company. I’d like to look at moving to an internal role but I’m worried I’ve priced myself out (currently at around 140k comp in LCOL).

What’s normal for Manager or Director level position in employment contract for a notice provision (ex: if we are going to lay you off we guarantee you 3 months notice and salary)?? Received an offer for over $300k annually but there is no safety net built in if they would abruptly lay me off. Is this normally offered or negotiated at this level? Interested to hear from different firms.

I had 9 rounds of interview in Goldman Sachs for a role in Bangalore office. I was getting regular updates from the hr within one or two days after every interview, however after the 9th round I did not hear back from the hr for two weeks. I followed up with the hr and as per the hr, they are awaiting feedback from the hiring manager what does that mean? Is my candidature got rejected? Is there any probability I will hear back from the hr team? Kindly advise.

Has anyone recently gone through the background check for Accenture? If so, how long did it take? Waiting to put my two weeks once background check clears. I have nothing to worry about but was advised that’s the route to take. Thanks for the insight! (NYC manager role)

I have countered their offer and the hiring manager scheduled a call with me the following day and gave me another counter to my counter. I didn't accept it and told him that the number I gave is fair based off my skills. He said he will review it with other team managers and reply back. It's been a week and I've never heard anything from them is that a no? And is it normal that they don't communicate back?

Offer: LinkedIn BizOps manager, 170k base, 50k in RSUs annually, maybe 10k bonus

Current: post MBA position, ~200k total cash base and bonus

Promotion in a year: director at EYP, ~ 200 base, maybe 20% bonus

Would you take the offer or stay? Seems to me that from a comp perspective, LinkedIn isn't a wow. In fact, I'm finding most BizOps in big tech don't actually pay all that much.

I’m in the process of making a career transition out of advertising to entertainment. I’m currently at $115k with $10k end of year bonus, $125K total.

The entertainment role is only $110k and the title would remain the same (Senior Manager).

Should I take the title and still being close to my base salary as a win or should I decline the role due to comp?
