Is it best to exit until manager or senior in Big4? I eventually want to quit PA for corporate.

Attorneys with the firm often send firm-wide emails advising of in house openings with a corporate client, and solicit recommendations or resumes of qualified candidates. Usually the client contact is a hiring manager for the position. How do I show interest without completely shooting myself in the foot? While I ultimately do want to exit the firm, I also don’t want to be openly broadcasting my intent to leave by telling the firm attorney(s) that I’m interested. Thoughts?

Hi Fishes, So I was working for an MNC since past 2.5 years at 3.6 ctc. The learning was amazing but I had to resign due to low pay. Later I joined Paytm. After 5 months, my manager asked me to rejoin considering the fact that the learning curve and responsibility is better there. Should i go with it?

I’m being promoted to Manager this November but recent got offer from a fintech. In money term the manager base pay is 5k greater than the new role but i’m negotiating to match the offer with my Manager salary. Should I wait until promoted or move asap?
I dont want to continue working in external audit so trying to pivot to data analyst role/IA in the fintech before moving to full DA/DS position… but thinking the Manager promotion would help negotiate salary in the future.

Interviewing at McKinsey from a big 4 consulting firm - currently an engagement manager interviewing for an engagement manager role on the partner track - comp at big 4 is currently $165k base, what’s a reasonable amount to ask for at mck?

I would say Business Strategy is probably more realistic with my work experience.

Is KPMG a good career move?

I’m currently working at a small/medium size consultancy. Not a bad name but not a good one either. 1 YOE and just promoted.

My goal is to move to MBB or a close 2nd tier firm but I haven’t started applications yet.

I’ve been offered an assistant manager role at KPMG and not sure whether to take it. Compensation is the same.

I think KPMG is a better brand name, but might harm my chances of moving somewhere else in the short-term.

Please let me know your thoughts!

I have mostly worked in Senior Individual contributor roles (Industry) so far in career and working in project manager, PMO/Consultant role for the first time. What are some good books, tutorials, youtube channels that can be helpful?

I often tend to slide towards individual contributor roles but want to learn project, team management now.

Received an offer for Manager role at Salesforce in one of their global strategy groups. During my initial conversation with the recruiter I mentioned my compensation expectations to be above $200k (current TC ~$205k) and they said they could get there. Offer came in at $160k base, 15% bonus, and $10k annual RSU for 4 years. Any advice on what parts of the offer would be most flexible (base, bonus,RSU,sign-on,other)/what a good counter would be? Would countering at $200k base be unreasonable?
