How many of you at MBB are working remotely still? Or how many days do you travel to client place? Trying to understand the pattern of wfh/travel in the region

Would you accept a title loss to move from T2 to MBB? Really good impression from practice and partners, however would bump from Manager to Senior Consultant level.

Up for promo ~12 months post joining, with initial hit in comp being mitigated with signing bonus. Would be a bump as soon as promo goes through.

However would mean ~1yoe seniority loss (although quite early in career)

How do you submit your expenses at McKinsey/MBB? I heard recently there's a policy change and even hotels must go on corporate card?

Is it possible/common to lateral to MBB from a top boutique where you go associate -> consultant at the boutique and enter as a consultant at MBB? Genuinely wondering if it’s something that’s done, know there would be a learning curve but figured C is also an entry level role for advanced degree candidates so there may be more support to adapt.

Who can refer me to MBB, Tier 2 or some where in the SWFs in the GCC? Preferred location Doha, Dubai or Abu Dhabi but open to Bahrain as well.

15+ years of consulting experience in FS in the US (program management, strategy, transformation and ops excellence) including the Big4 with 2 of those spent in the GCC.

I have 3.5 yrs experience in IT project management, and I am interested in consulting. Based on compensation rates, I am open to entry-level (associate) positions at MBB firms. Is it a better idea to apply to entry-level positions now, apply as an EH to a Big4, or wait a few months to have the strongest application? I am looking at generalist consulting, not tech/IT specific.

What do you learn in PE that you don’t at MBB? Do consultants who make the switch feel like it was a good idea to try PE out for two years?

Benefits of UMM or MF for someone who wants to work in F500 roles, eventually as a CEO? Recently lateraled to MBB and am being hit up by firms like CPI and Henkel. Is the PE skillset valuable and respected in the market (most people are unfamiliar with the top PE firms)?

Hello, I am 28F with 5 years experience at a Big4 in advisory (Amsterdam) and I am currently preparing for MBB interviews.
I think I practiced around 30/40 cases over the past weeks, however I still feel that I am not mastering my casing skills. I don’t feel I am improving anymore in comparison to the beginning of my prep - so I really question whether I am cut for the job/ smart enough, etc. I feel the whole case assessment is so random and one can ALWAYS fuc* up. Any tips? Should I give up?

How do you manage the job needs (travel, hours, etc) with parenting requirements (daycare drop/pickups, taking care of kids, etc...)?

I know this is a highly specific scenario, but I just want to gather best practices from those who have already figured it out or are working on figuring it out.

I'm looking at applying to MBB (Preferably BCG) for a summer internship this summer. I'm a first-gen Oxbridge student, and while I have little experience in consulting along the lines of MBB, I did work in the city last summer as an sustainability consultant.

I'm curious how important it is to have a referral etc and what you'd recommend for applications opening in jan. Any advice is super appreciated I don't have any connections to the industry but it's something im interested in. 

Does it make sense to jump from tier 2 consultant to MBB associate consultant?

I am European, 26 and currently earning 75k (T2 Consulting Firm). This is pretty standard (MBB pays 81k). After taxes that makes around 3.4k a month. I am spending 1/3 of my salary on living expenses and have around 2k/month to save. Compared to the TCs I am reading here in my age range that seems VERY low. How does the US and Europe compare in that regard and how can I make the most out of it?

Random thought on Sunday - I often read people wanting a better WLB and I respect that but what really is a better WLB? I get IB has some crazy hours during busy times where people work 20 hrs a day but doesn’t happen everyday. I often ask ppl why complain about WLB when we clearly knew what is expected if we join IB, MBB, PE, etc. Genuinely curious to others.

Question for MBB 🐠 who decided to get an MBA - did it actually change your career trajectory in a meaningful way?

Currently having trouble justifying the opportunity cost, esp. since I’d have to come back for 2 years if I get sponsored, and there’s nothing I’m dying to pivot into.
Am I missing something?
