Any advice for an informal group interview to “meet the team”? Going to be a Zoom with 10ish people, hopefully not just grilling me 😬.

I keep having sex dreams about my manager. Typically I would say he’s not really my type but my subconscious thinks differently. Last night was my 5th? 6th? In the last week. I’m not sure if I’m falling in love with him a little bit or just horny. Either way I’m not distressed and have no intentions of acting on it, but it can certainly be distracting during zoom meetings.

Does Zoom whitening really damage the enamel? My German dentist tells me not to do any bleaching but I found another former USAF dentist in another city that offers Zoom whitening and he said as long as it’s controlled in the office there won’t be permanent damage to the teeth. Anyone has done that before and is it becoming easier to stain and then you have to do it every two years or so? Does the hypersensitivity last long even after the treatment?

Hey guys, recent grad with a bs in bio. Trying to break into sales as an SDR/BDR in a large SaaS company (salesforce, aws, zoom etc) but finding it rather hard even after networking. Got one interview, it went well, but only 40% of SDRs are hitting quota. Open to any advice/insight and help.

What does the parentheses at the end of name, which is some combination of (B / G / Y / R) stand for? In my zoom calls, some have the he/she/they pronouns after their names, others have these abbreviations. Thanks!

I used to be so eager to work and I was extremely diligent before moving firms. Now I don't want to do anything and I slack off to the point where I hate myself. How do I get back into the grind? I want to contribute more to my team and do better but my mind wanders so easily...

I just took a week+ off from work for PTO. I deleted slack on my phone and didn’t bring my laptop on my trip. It might have been the best thing I’ve ever done for myself and my mental health. I honestly didn’t realize how much I needed this space and time away from work.

If you’re thinking about taking a long vacay… DO IT! You’ve fucking earned it. And honestly, your team will manage without you. It’s just advertising.

Is your agency doing anything to celebrate pride other than a random zoom conference?

To all those new to crypto, here’s some of my experiences that could benefit you all. In 2016-2018 I invested around 20k in altcoins and turned it into 60k and then proceeded to lose almost all of it (was down to 10k). I had done extensive research in my projects and bought throughout the following years and that 10k investment (maybe more like 20k from further buying) has now turned into 600k in February but is back down to 200k. I will continue to buy and know that when in doubt, zoom out.

Shout out to the company that wanted to do a zoom call on a Sunday only to have the person I was supposed to talk to not join 🙄

What’s your opinion on wearing sleeveless/tank top shirts to non client meetings like daily stand ups? I see females wearing them a lot on some of my zoom calls? Inappropriate or no?

Hate my job but 2 months away from sign on bonus what do I do? I already got it but in my offer letter it says they have the right to take it away if the year isn’t completed. I’m interviewing for a bunch of amazing roles and I think I’m 100% going to get this one I want but am worried they want the start date in a month or so. Do I just leave bc I hate it here or ask to stay up until my start date and slack off until then?

Respect your coworkers and their time. Asking people to “stay on” at the end of a zoom to spring an impromptu secondary meeting on them is bush league.

Zoom meetings are a lot like dating after 30: soft light, flattering angles, and relying on personality can get you surprisingly far.

Anyone have any experience working at Zoom?

My therapist during future retirement puzzled why I have PTSD from just corporate America: “How were you able to express frustrations and your emotion during your job in a healthy way?”

Me: “Slack only offered so many negative emojis.”

Solo who started pre-pandemic and as a result never transitioned into a traditional office setting. I enjoy work from home and it keeps overhead obviously low. I can afford to move into an office now (and planned to do so last spring before the shutdown). I find myself hesitating to make the leap. I’ve found most clients prefer zoom consultations or house calls. I practice in PI and cannabis. Curious to hear others’ thoughts on the necessity of a brick and mortar post pandemic. Thanks.

Looking to learn the basics about setting up an LLC / property management (ie should I use legal zoom etc) for my Boston rental condo - am a newbie. Know nothing.

Does anyone here have a fear of public speaking? Even in zoom calls I get incredibly nervous speaking if it’s a big group of people. What is weird is I am (what I would consider) a very good interviewer and am generally great one on one, but when I’m presenting to group of say 5 or more people I just get incredibly nervous, my voice and body starts shaking, and I always feel like I’m embarrassing myself. I’m wondering how I can get over this as I get further in my career.
