Hoping to get my PHR in the next year or so. Outside of employer reimbursement, are there other opportunities for this to get funded? I know SHRM Foundation offers scholarships for the CP, but I am looking for PHR specific help. Thank you! :)
You’re constantly showing up for everyone else, but who’s showing up for you? I started an initiative to coach HR/people leaders because I know what it’s like to be doing all the things for everyone else with little support or focus on your own well-being, growth and development. It’s a lonely game! I’d be delighted to create the space to make you a priority. Would love to offer a free session, or simply connect: https://www.chrisrollins.me/peopleleaders.
Anyone here work at PwC in North America? Curious about the work culture and if there's anything to watch out for
I’m planning to buy the study materials for the SHRM-CP certificate through Amazon. What are the best ones to obtain?
First time founder - would you recommend square, stripe or something else for purchases between $150-$10k or what alternatively?
I’m looking for a screening tool that will assess a candidate’s proficiency with MS-Teams. Would anyone know if there is such a thing that exists?
How long, on average, did it take you to study before you could pass the PHR/SPHR exam? Did you think it was worth it?
Can anyone recommend a certificate or course that is actually useful for developing professionals and/or reviewing performance? I don’t want/need something that is just a credential, I’m actually looking to get some formal grounding in these two topics so I can overhaul processes at my consulting firm. Thanks for your advice!!!
Looking for feedback on Paylocity and UKG payroll HRIS. We have 250 employees and rapidly growing company.
Any advice for someone looking to transition into a full HR Generalist role from Recruiting. I’m currently a Campus Recruiter with about 5 years of HR experience (Coordinator- Higher Ed). I received my PHR certification in September 2020 and sitting for my SHRM-CP in two weeks. I’m having a hard time transitioning into a full Generalist position.
I’m mid-level in my HR career at my current company and an upcoming Master’s graduate. Studying for my SHRM-CP too. How did you make the transition to that next level? What skills do you need, or is it really just based on YOE (I am the youngest compared to my teammates, many who have 10+ YOE)? I feel like career pathing is not very clear at my company. Each time I ask for guidance on this from my manager, I get told they’ll look into it.... would love some external mentorship and thoughts 🙏🏼
Hi Everyone! I’m torn between which HR certification to pursue (SHRM-SCP or SPHR). Which one would you recommend and why?
Anyone work in Campus Recruiting? How are you planning for fall given uncertainty at schools/likelihood of virtual learning?
Does PHR certification help in India, as this is globally recognised how much valuable is this currently in indian job market. Do we got some good offers or its another certificate just to add to CV after so much of investment & time I don't want to get this wasted !! Need suggestions ??
For those of you who spent the time and money to get the PHR or SHRM certifications, do you feel that it actually strengthened your professional capabilities as on HR professional, or did you just do it to fit into the “HR Professional” crowd?
How long does it take to get over ptsd from being in a toxic micromanaging environment? I was a top biller and top manager at a large staffing company for five years and was treated like a child. The place was crazy. Six months into my new role I’m still scared to request PTO or afraid that my boss would be mad if she found that I took an afternoon break to walk my dog.
Any life science firms or Tier 2/MBB hiring right now? I have a year of experience at a healthcare boutique and 8 months as an ER associate covering biopharma at a top MM bank.
Maybe recruiters suck and are bitter that we tell them that their firm is our top choice while we interview at as many places as possible at once. But when they ask where they stand ‘you are my top choice right now’
Friendly reminder that there’s a $120 Kimpton credit (20% off) via chase sapphire reserve. Seems worth walking away from Marriott for a week!
What do people do after getting an MBA? They must be for something other than coming back to finance for a slightly higher pay cheque...
S& folks - how is the culture in your HIA group? Former PwC MC (different industry) so my knowledge is limited, but a recruiter reached out and would love to hear if the S& culture is as rough as it seemed.
What’s the best way to spend Amex points?
Would you rather: have a job where the work doesn’t interest you at all but you really like the people you work with, OR a job where the work really interests you but the office culture is cliquey?
What are we seeing at Kearney for Sr Associate and Manager base salaries? Signing bonus?
Thinking of getting a Sea-Dweller 126600 - there are so many Subs. Finding them relatively easy to get hold of - why does this bowl think they are less popular than the Sub date? I have larger wrists so quite like the 43mm case and the red text tickles my fancy
Any agencies not returning to the office? I have loved this year of WFH and never want to go back.
Just need to vent about how incredibly shitty the commute from Manhattan to JFK is. 90 minutes yesterday in stop and go the entire way, had to take Queens Blvd.
Thoughts on investing into rental properties vs putting money into market? Had 2 HUD rented properties and currently selling them and unsure whether to invest in purchasing another one or just use that money to buy stocks. I’m worried that low income renters will struggle with paying rent due to losing jobs because of COVID. Thoughts?
You’re on a Southwest flight, sitting in your seat with one person left to find a seat. You know there are only two seats left, both are middle seats and one is next to you. What do you do?
Are consulting firms adjusting salary for employees working remote from a different state?
Heard this from a mutual friend of this realtor. She lost her brother, both parents, and her husband is in ICU. Social distancing must be taken seriously folks, for your sake, and others around you. http://abc6onyourside.com/news/local/hilliard-woman-loses-three-family-members-to-covid-19-urges-social-distancing-for-others
Has anyone been sent a package from Hilton for hitting 100 nights? I received an email from FedEx that a Hilton address was sending a package, within a week of hitting 100 nights on the year.
Partner compensation should include a metric where they are evaluated on how much effort and success they have in making new partners. Continually disappointed in the lack of such focus by many.
Pretty sure my managing partner just caught wind of me applying to other firms even though I used a recruiter. I know it happens, but how do I prepare for the potential blowback? What do I say if he asks about it?
Hi guys! I work at PwC within the data transformation and analytics group. I got an RFE related to specialty occupation for my Visa. Do you recommend going for premium processing?
