All this thread makes me realize is that I’m woefully underpaid for my position. That’s what being loyal to one agency does...in 10 years I’ve averaged about a $5K a bump per year. Mostly these posts about salary just leave me sad and confused. Oversee more than $8M in business that I brought in. Didn’t make a bonus for that either. Why I stay? Probably imposter syndrome and flexibility.
Not sure where you work and which accounts, but $8MM in billings really isn’t that much in this industry.
But besides that, it’s entirely true that most companies do not compensate fairly for loyalty. Profit margins always come first and they will retain you for as little as they can. Everyone is viewed as replaceable.
If you want more money, you have to bounce around. But do it tactfully and make sure more money is worth losing any other potential benefits, like work life balance and working with people you enjoy being in the company of.

If it weren’t for anonymity, I wish we could post photos too. I wonder who here has found that balance of money and happiness and who paid a price (puffy eyes, dark circles, weight loss or gain, alcoholism, grey hairs, etc.)
