A recruiter messaged me saying I would be "perfect" for a role. Then I looked at the salary and it was nowhere near what I am on now. Surely recruiters know that money matters in sales. What is the first thing you look for in a job advert?

Recruiter's don't know what you make or what your salary expectations are unless you tell them.

That is fair. It is a two-way conversation. I do think being upfront about the salary range early saves everyone a lot of time.

The money and benefits.

Same here. If the salary, commission structure, or benefits do not stack up, it is difficult to look past that, no matter how interesting the role sounds.

What are the perks offers by PWC for SA roles other than monthly fixed salary

Currently I have offers from 2 companies (say A and B), A is paying more but I want to join B (B is paying less but better brand). Planning to ask B to match salary that A offers. Have 2 doubts:
1) Does companies actually verifies the pay that the competition is offering? (Dont want to ruin my offer with A if B doesn't match the salary)
2) Will it impact my job prospects at A if it gets to know I tried to match their offer from a competition?
Pls help, TIA

I’ve had radio silence from a small investment bank for about a week now. I’ve completed several rounds of interviews, but last Thursday the firm reposted the job I’ve been interviewing for. On Friday the headhunter said that they’re not sourcing new candidates and it’s probably just LinkedIn automatically refreshing the listing. She said they had a busy week last week but will make a final decision this week - is the delay and radio silence a bad sign or is this typical for experienced hiring?

Hello, first post here. Outside sales, merchant services/card processing. I’m primarily a welder but I work 4 10-hour shifts typically then I try sales the last three days. I’ve done it long enough to where I’m confident and comfortable going to new businesses, establishing some rapport with business owners. But it seems like a lot of businesses see this as a waste of time, even adding services and cutting costs. I guess either I’m looking for advice or considering not doing this anymore.

Lately, I've been hearing a lot from my peers about how sales isn't a real profession.
I work at a tech startup and it mostly comprises developers. They can't stop emphasizing their importance in the food chain and I can't figure if I'm too humble or they're too arrogant.
This yapping comes from people I've known since college. I have successfully blocked all such negativity but wanted to know if anyone here has faced such scenarios.
P.S: I've already accepted an offer above my expectations
