Can someone kindly connect me with Investment Banking HR/Recruiter/anyone willing to help? My friend interviewed for Goldman Sachs NY. Cleared the HireVue but didn’t get any communication further. It’s been 4 weeks now. Although the referral came from a VO but the division is different. My friend is looking for Investment Banking division. Need to get in touch with someone from investment banking to push the resume. The rolling process is hurting the chances.Thank you Goldman Sachs

I would rank those firms in terms of prestige and scope of exit opportunities as follows: (1) ArentFox Schiff, (2) Barnes Thornburg, (3) Ice Miller, (4) Fox Rothschild, (5) Cozen O'Connor. I think of Ice Miller as generally well-regarded, but more of a Midwestern firm that might not yield as much traction in the DMV. I consider Cozen mainly an insurance defense shop and would not go there unless it's your only option. Fox Rothschild is more on par with Ice Miller but I would say is probably never anyone's first or second choice. ArentFox Schiff and Barnes are on pretty equal footing IMO.
I don't think the gap between my 1/2 and 3/4 rankings is all that wide, but I will say that if you're in general commercial litigation, it can be very hard to trade up into a higher-ranked firm. It's much easier to lateral up as a transactional associate (outside of M&A which is more competitive) or someone in a specialty litigation practice that is more niche.

There's no strict definition of "Big Law" but I think most people in this bowl would agree these are more [strong] mid law firms than Big Law. Thats not to say they aren't great firms or anything.
I've used Fox Rothschild as local many times and have always been really happy with them. I also view ArentFox and Ice Miller well. I haven't heard of the other firms but that's just me.
