Any benefits of doing longer term projects (1-3 years)? The longest project I've ever done was 5 months and it got a little boring towards the end. Currently weighing offers to join firms that would staff me on specific projects, and they're all expected to go multiple years and I would be expected to stay on for at least 1 year. What would be some things to watch out for and ask, if you were trying to see if a long term project is a good choice?

Within my first year of Consulting, really struggling with the hours amongst other things. Spoken to a couple of people internally and the advice is to get on to projects with bigger budgets and therefore bigger teams/more support. I joined CG 6 months back and was on training for 3-4 months for Dynamics CRM, completing multiple MS certifications. Post that I was mapped to an account for the project & was under shadow.

After shadow completed it seems like there's no project openings in the account for which I was selected. And now management wants me to go for other certs.

Please help me know whom can I approach & ask for project openings/tagging. I'm worried as it's already been 6 months!

Throughout my career, I have worked at both “traditional” and “digital” shops. My current agency would fall under traditional but also offers digital services. Our process, roles and skillsets seem way outdated but I wasn’t sure if it was just my opinion or if this is just how it works. For example, we have no CTO or tech leads. Our digital producers feel more like project managers than actual producers. Account Management is just traditional, no real digital knowledge. Feels layered and dated.

I’m transitioning into a role where I’ll be more hands on in production. Previously, the producers handled the budget, contracts etc. I haven’t done this in a long while so I hope I could get some answers here to be more prepared
