For my pcos ladies on metformin, interesting news article. Be careful out there. The good news I hear is that metformin leaves the body pretty quickly so in 2 days you won't have it in you anymore. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/victoriaforster/2020/04/05/researchers-warn-that-covid-19-treatment-t

Ashwaganda is an ayurvedic herb that I use from time to time to deal with anxiety
OP, we’ll absolutely not be able to understand what you must be going through. But one thing I know for sure is that you’re not alone and if you reach out to your loved ones you’ll get help. I have suffered from severe insomnia and anxiety myself. What helped is to keep myself occupied. I made a bunch of hobbies. Started contributing to community services for a cause that I’m passionate about. And rather than doing traditional gym, I enrolled myself in yoga and martial arts. Meditation helps too but I’m too impatient for it right now. I don’t want to impose what I did but these areas definitely help cleansing ones mind, body, heart and soul. Also, if situation gets worse, do not hesitate to see a therapist and also medication if need be
Put away the phone at 9:30. It’s tough but trust me. I print out things to read from 9:30 to 10:30 then it’s sleep for me!
C1 that’s some bs, come on... promising a cure to very complex issues by reading a book. I hate when people recommend “just change your thoughts and you’ll be 100% better.” Even with extensive therapy you’re still going to have bad days. OP, there are some great suggestions here to deal with this in a healthy way. Reading a book as a quick fix is not the answer. Cognitive behavioral therapy helped me so much.
Exercise. Meditation. Limited caffeine
I’d recommend checking out the anxiety and depression bowl for this. Doesn’t sound quite like introversion
Is that what kids call it these days???
OP, the idea is that you take care of and look after yourself. Most of the times anxiety is because of us forgetting ourselves in the midst of so many things happening in the outside world. Sometimes it’s FOMO. The point is, the reasons could be different for different people. But one thing that’ll help everyone is to take care of themselves by whatever works for them - it could be exercise, meditation, working out, reading a book, going out for a walk, digital detoxing, talking to someone and even seeing a therapist or taking medications. Remember, we cannot get away with anxiety. It’ll always be there - what we need to do is to change our relationship with it. 😊
seconding martial arts and or yoga. Also not eating all of the augar and caffiene.
That's actually a good idea. But I also find it hard to shut down mentally since I have an offshore team with direct reports.
Smoke some weed and get some good sleep.
Read the Power of Now by Eckhert Tolle. Will 100% resolve your anxiety and teach you how to discipline your mind to only healthy thoughts
What helped my anxiety and insomnia was changing my diet. I now juice in the morning, eat salads for lunch and supplement with fruits for snacking. For dinner I eat some carbs and meats to balance out the day. I also started working out. This has definitely helped me
A3, it’s not a quick fix. The book teaches you how to implement a new lifestyle and mental discipline that sticks... thousands of people swear by this book for this purpose and it’s a best seller. Changed my life and eliminated these issues for myself. You can disagree, but understand that your opinion is nothing more than your subjective opinion
1. See a therapist and get a proper diagnosis
2. If you truly have GAD then there are good options
3. If true anxiety, the insomnia is likely a symptom, not the root cause - focus on the root cause first
4. Your mental health is more important than your job - focus on you
5. Life gets infinitely better once you have a clear roadmap/diagnosis - you’ll be amazed
