Adderall IR 20mg 3x/day for past 9 years and 39 y/o (hopefully that’s close enough) - TL/DR: the experience resembles the movie Limitless, but without the Russian loansharks. Might get an evening headache if I skip the 2nd and 3rd dose. 36-48 hrs without a dose and I’ll literally sleep all day and night (I schedule days like this every few weeks.) No psychosis. I intentionally limit mental loads when I know I’ll be off the meds for a few days i.e. take a few sick days, stay off the phone, won’t hang out with friends, etc. There was a point in my late 20s when I completely stopped after final exams in December but felt like my normal, pre-Adderall self by the time classes resumed in January. Not sure if relevant or not but I’m generally healthy (good diet, work out every other day, etc.) I’ve probably felt sick a total of 15 days over the past 10 years. Happy to provide more info.
I tried 10mg XR, my mood is better can sit longer but not limitless movie like lol - good for you
I am 43 and having been taking Adderal for 15 years. I don't believe I've suffered any long term side effects (and I take what I think is a fairly high dosage). Certainly no cognitive impacts or psychosis.
Sorry for ur loss
F45. I've been on methylphenidate off and on since I was 20, though consistent use for last 7 years. No cognitive impacts and no psychosis.
Thanks for sharing
There’s studies on long term use of stimulants, maybe that will be more helpful than a few anecdotes.
