For anyone that resigned without an offer lined up and took time off, what did you tell your team as a reason for leaving? I’m just not happy with my company but don’t want to jump into something new yet.

Christmas falls on a Monday next year. Is your company observing the Friday before (22nd) as eve? Or are they observing the 26th as day after?

For all you retail people...are you experiencing a very slow holiday season? I am a retail manager and I feel like this season has been freakishly slow. I thought we would at least match last year's number or be up a little bit but we are trending down. I talked to employees of other stores in the mall and they are saying the same thing. I had an interview the week before Christmas and New Years. I know there is usually a holiday slump - when should I reach out about an update? It will be 3 weeks tomorrow.

2 weeks unassigned in may. Can I use PTO for those 2 weeks even if I haven’t accrued it yet? 1st year, and what are the cons of two weeks off? Like utilization. Etc

I’ve suffered from workaholism for a long time. Thanks to a lot of great self help books and therapy, I’m no longer putting work on a pedestal and I’m spending a lot more time on self care and my marriage. But, unfortunately, I am now getting withdrawals, because my body is used to the daily adrenaline of throwing myself into work. It’s this terrible feeling of like anguish/unease in my gut, but I don’t have anything I’m worried about- it’s like my body wants to find something to worry about.

Hello, I recently was reached out to by an in-house recruiter at a similar but slightly different company than the one I currently work for. The recruiter provided a base range and an OTE range. The lower end of that range is what I am currently making. The higher end of that range is almost 200k more than my current comp. The role is almost identical. I wasn’t looking to move, but that higher end range would set my family up very nicely for our goals. But I am happy at my current company. Help?
