At what point do you talk to the partners at a small firm when you’re looking for other positions. I love the people at my firm, and I’m close with them— but I’ll eventually be leaving to be closer to my s/o. They’ve historically taken things VERY personally when people leave, and I’m trying to avoid hurt feelings (or getting let go before I have something else lined up). Send help plz.

I never do this but I need some objective advice. My wife is 5mo pregnant and my sister is getting married. Wedding was adjusted because of COVID but she set the date knowing I might not be able to attend as I’d have to fly there. Now I’m conflicted because if I attend, I’d have to quarantine for 2 weeks away from my wife and miss a couple DR appts. I’m her only support where we live. Does the wealthy partner have rights to reimbursement? They never married.

Perhaps not directly relevant, but I have a difficult family background. Never known my dad, my mom had serious drug/mental health issues. Grew up with grandparents and aunt & uncle. Somehow I miraculously did well in school and ended up in big law. For Christmas I plan on faking quarantine to explain why I’ll be alone, though I want to be more upfront with colleagues, friends and potential partners, but I’m afraid my story will appear off-putting to them. At what point do you stop splitting rent/bills 50/50 with your fiance? She makes 75 and I make 125, we don’t live a wild lifestyle so we could both individually afford 100% of our rent/bills, but I have student loans and she doesn’t. I’m thinking of keeping everything 50/50 until we get married or unless she asks - is that fair?

We decided to do a photo session before the wedding for the two of us and family. The photographer and the location were amazing but the makeup was terrible, and because I was low on time, I couldn't fix it before the photos. The makeup artist make me look yellow! Idk if there's anything that could be done at this point, but feeling so disappointed :(
