Anyone recently received a tax manager offer from EY ? I’m going through final interviews and want to see what your experience was like (negotiation process, initial offer higher/lower than expected?, did you give them a salary expectation range? How long did it take from final interview to offer etc) TIA!PwC EY KPMG Deloitte

I would work remote for another year and then switch firms at the SA level.

Agree. Stick it out remote. Jump when SA for 30% premium or don’t waste your time. You’ll have to learn new systems and boomers will judge you.
Depends on your goal and interest.
Been with two BDO offices, talked to other offices as well. What each office does can vary . Some are individuals, trust and pass through heavy; some have a good of mix of Corp, provision and pass through. Culture, hours and stress vary from office to office.
Depends on the office, you could be working on B4 low level type of client, or same regional firm type of client.
Bdo does have good technology resources, which helps you work more efficiently. Again, this also depends on how adaptive each office is.
Good jumping board to B4 if that aligns with your goal.
Good luck!
Could you speak for their benefits plans? Health And time off etc. What do you think of it?
And how does the performance review works in BDO?
65k is pretty dang solid for an experienced tax assoc hire. I wouldn’t push hard for a 2k bump. If you want more money ask for a bigger sign on bonus to “help with moving”
Context: I’m a tax manager in the SE
I asked and they bumped the sign on up to3k, but didn't change the base.
Too bad you don’t want to work remote permanently. When you have about 3 years tax experience, you can work remotely for a California firm starting at $85k-$90k and maybe even higher depending on the demand.
Really? I guess regardless if I switch or not now, I can always keep my eyes out for California firm later when I want to stay home forever lol
What is Midwest regional? Like in terms of ranking? If you work at a small firm your client exposure will be tiny. If that’s the case jump now so you get better experience. You do not want to get stuck working on tiny clients all your life. However if you are at a decently sized company I’d say stay put for now.
Like for me I used to work at a large regional and I thought 200 million gross receipts was large then I realized that those companies won’t hire me so I needed bigger so here I am at GT
Experienced associate is tough to negotiate and sometimes the money isn’t worth it. I went from a decent size firm, but smaller clients, to RSM when I was around your level with a similar $ bump and $2k sign on. I took it because I saw more opportunity with RSM than my old firm. If I didn’t want to work on bigger clients, then I would have stayed where I was. If I wanted the type of work at BDO I would switch, but otherwise stay where you are and wait for something better.
Appears that it's true. I was able to argue a 3k sign on instead of 1k. But That's it. Im at a stage Where Im not sure what kind of client that I want to work for a long term yet. And I really haven't worked on too big of a client as of yet. Really hard to say.
