Hi Techies,
I want to know that where should move/upskill from networking routing switching to other domains to get more salary.
I feels that networking industry doesn't have deep pocket like others.
Any suggestions of technology/domain?

Staff doesn’t know what they’re doing. Restaurant (besides one bartender who makes a delicious Clase Azul Reposado Margarita) is disjointed and slow. Club lounge wasn’t open. They are slow to issues points after the stay - still haven’t gotten mine from 9 nights ago. Valet takes forever....bottom line: wait a few months at least to stay at this place.
It’s pretty common for new properties and a team that hasn’t worked together before to get things operational. However this sounds particularly rough.
Oh I get it. Sometimes I’ve called on Friday after I got home.
But it can help. I had a team of 40 in a property in New England for several months and we avoided the hotel restaurant because it was unbelievably slow. Even in snowstorms people did everything they could to avoid it, and room service too. But the food was good, you’d just wait 90+ minutes for it.
Eventually I asked to provide feedback to the GM saying I was the lead of the group responsible for $8K of revenue for three nights/week and he was losing material amounts of cash on restaurant service. He thanked me, oversaw process improvements and reshuffled some shifts then asked us to try them again. We did and things were much improved for the rest of our time there, which we made sure to tell him.
Marriott sucks. Period. Same issues occurred on other properties - don’t have to be brand new.
