I'd be interested in hearing what your current setup is or what it could be but here's what I do and what I recommend.
1. Smarthome automation: my lights and tv all come on at a programmed time or with a command. The news and weather gets read to me and it's a few things immediately off my list to do.
2. Separate areas to work, preferably with a 2nd screen. Allow yourself a space to hyper focus and once you step out of that space you can devote attention to other items.
3. In terms of organizing my work, I do and recommend the following:
A. Your first day open a word document and save it as "Notes," with 1 minute autosave. Keep it open all day and every day. When you get a random thought or instruction you notate with the meeting name date and/or time.
B. Calendar invites to yourself with things to do. When you get an email to do something, remove the sender and add yourself in the tp field to create a meeting. Pick a time slot for when you want to handle the item and set a meeting. Reminders suck.
C. Scheduled text messages, sort of like item b. When you don't want to forget something, maybe you can't set a meeting, schedule a text message to yourself with what you have to do.
4. Quality: Create checklists for yourself when reviewing work. As you make mistakes add those items to your QA checklist. Hope this helps.

MC1's tips are so great!
Will also add, I live my work life in OneNote. I make weekly goals, keep daily to do lists, save important emails, capture notes while doing research (all in separate notebooks of course). It's like a fully externalized, searchable brain for me.
I learned long ago that while I might have an excellent memory, I have really poor memory recall, i.e. I can't access the memory I want at will, but when a memory bubbles up, it's very detailed 😄.
You’re awesome MC1. Huge thanks for this. I don’t have one except that I use noise canceling headphones. Let me work on finding tips ideas. I will post them here so that I can give back in return for your awesomeness!
Wow these are great. How do you schedule a text message?
