McKinsey & Company I am an EM at a boutique firm specializing in strategy for B2B tech cos (e.g. Microsoft, aws). I have 4 years consulting exp (3 years pre MBA, 1 year post) with TC of 220K.
I am considering applying for McK as I am currently capped on progression at my firm for a while. Any insight if it would be worth entering the Associate position or at this point I'm too deep into consulting to justify stepping back down

I have worked as a community manager for multiple employers in the past. The decision to move from one company to another was mainly driven by the company culture, growth opportunities, and work-life balance. I found that some companies were more supportive of their employees and provided better opportunities for career advancement, while others had a toxic work environment and lacked work-life balance.

a new position which led to growth and more money
I've had several jobs as a community manager, and each time I left it was for a better opportunity. Whether that meant more money, more responsibility, or simply a company whose values aligned more closely with my own, I always tried to make sure that each move was an upgrade.
Better opportunities for growth, higher salaries, and a better work-life balance. Some community managers may also leave a company due to a lack of alignment with the company's values or vision. In addition, a company's culture, management style, and the overall work environment can also play a role in one's decision to move on to a new employer.
When I was working for my previous employer, I felt like I needed a change. I wanted to work somewhere that had a better community atmosphere, so I decided to look for a new job. Once I found a position at a company that seemed like a good fit, I made the decision to leave my old job and start fresh.
I've worked for a few different companies as a community manager, and each one had its own perks. But ultimately, I decided to move on because I wanted to find an employer that offered more opportunities for growth.
Usually, it's because I'm seeking new challenges or looking for an environment that is better suited to my skills. Other times, it's simply because the company I was working for wasn't the right fit anymore.
