Contributed the full $6k earlier this year to my Roth IRA. Changed jobs and now I’ll be over the income limit. Once I sell stocks and withdraw my contributions/gains from my Roth IRA, do I need to do anything else to make sure I don’t get penalized?

Also very difficult to figure out the gains. Should I just clear out my Roth IRA and move everything to brokerage? There’s about $15k total. Thank you!

Talk to your brokerage. I believe there is a process to recharacterize to traditional IRA in this scenario, then you can backdoor to Roth if you want.

Yes they have seen this many times before. Should be an easy fix. Any gains will be taxed and distributed to you.

Thank you! I spoke with my brokerage earlier today, and they walked walked me through the whole process!

I have a LOT of credit card debt. It has just grown over time and I can’t find my way out. I’m considering debt consolidation, specifically a company called National Debt Relief which seems legit but I’m just so hesitant because I’m scared to make my situation worse. Or a personal loan to pay off all the CC debt and then have a smaller all in one payment. I’m intelligent and I work in finance, it’s so embarrassing. HELP.

I don’t get it why people post things like “I’m 28 and have a net worth of 2 million”… what is the purpose of posting and bragging about your net worth without and constructive comments or suggestions? Most wealthy people I know are very humble as mentioned in books like the Millionaire Next Door, but If you want to state how rich you are, then maybe at least give some comments or recommendations on how you achieved that wealth to help others do the same.

Open Enrollment Q:
Debating between High Deductible (for HSA) & PPO options.
My spouse has some expensive medications. Annual insurance allowed amount is ~$40K for us in 2021. Since we are currently on PPO, we only paid ~$500 out of pocket.
With a high deductible plan, we would pay ~ $7K out of pocket since HD Plan only pays 90% after the deductible. Is there anyone in similar situation? Does enrolling in a high deductible plan for HSA make sense in this case? Anyone in similar situation?

Scores consider the number of accounts that are paid as agreed. Your score was impacted because the number of these accounts is too low, or because you've missed payments recently on some of your accounts.

After 7 years of actively managing my portfolio I have concluded that simple boring index funds are way to go. I did well in tech stocks but have some I'll times entries and exits which kinda took down profits. Do you still believe actively trading would produce better results. I have learned quite a lot in process but now I don't think I would be able to give same time when life gets busy with higher roles, kids etc. Anyone have been successful in managing their portfolios and beating indexes.
