Hi there, I’ve been told that Deloitte (London, UK) is going to make me an offer but haven’t heard back and it’s been over two weeks. The recruiter mentioned it would be around the “m2 grade”. Any idea what this pay range is? … I have 3 YOE working in NHS finance and have applied for a position in Risk Advisory, public sector. Curious what life at Deloitte is like? Does a work life balance exist?

I believe paternity at EY increased to 1 month full pay in recent years.
I agree
Do any consultancies offer paid paternity leave from day one or do you usually need to work there for some time before being able to take it?

It is prob similar to Accenture. My mate was at PwC and it was similar. SPL but topped up to full pay. So you and your wife get like 39 paid weeks to share and the remaining 13 unpaid (or paid at maternity pay for her).
Most B4 and ACN have something like that. They will roughly match each other.

It’s not clear to me, lol. My *lowest* number of revisions of the SPL form was 7. It is impossible to get right the first time😂
But basically just take as much time as you’re willing to sign for. They just want your signature on the form. They are not trying to be tight on the time or the money tbh. It’s a bad look and there is no legal way to check it across companies (multiple MDs have said this exact thing to me).
One awkward detail buried in the form for Accenture is that your SPL has to be taken in chunks of 12 weeks or more at a time. So you can’t dip in and out. But you can start it later. You have to do the first 2 weeks (this is statutory pat leave) but you can then wait before you start your SPL.
Some people do this if wife is confident with newborn (and has mum or sister around etc) as there is not much for dad to do other than run the household).
I have never personally been convinced by this. It is pretty intense with the brand new baby and the thought of trying to work whilst your wife is dealing with that (and recovery from delivery) does not seem like a good idea to me. But different cultures and families have different norms. Also note you accrue annual leave whilst on pat leave so you’ll come back with like a load of weeks to burn
